Theories:
a. Perhaps the refs are refs are tired of the old 1970's uniforms with the short-shorts and decided to call a foul everytime they saw cheek showing from the uni's?
b. Maybe you shouldn't have slept with the refs wife the week before season?
c. Maybe you have too many Europeans on the roster who don't like to play physical American basketball?
d. Game engine got screwed up when they messed with the salaries a couple of seasons ago?
e. Randomness is a great thing and makes us keep playing because you can't always predict the outcome?

Regardless, I will shamelessly take the win and move on to my next match. My very first game in BB, I was up by 10 with something like 12-seconds left and ended up losing at the buzzer. I am surprised I am still playing after that.

If the players are accumulating fouls late in the game it could be a stamina issue or if they are fouling to try and get back into the game...

In all games the fouls have been coming early and often, which has the adds to the problems since my bench players enter the game early and, being of generally lesser ability, often pick up fouls at an even faster rate than the starters. I had my third-string SF in the last game in 2nd quarter, it was that bad (which is a shame since SF was one of the first "soft spots" in Scrap's starting lineup). Last week I had to change my Training strategy since my team's minutes were all screwed up from the foul trouble. I'm hoping for a karma bounce, but this is starting to look like my team's swan song in this league. Maybe mojitos with In Your Face next season might not be so bad.

Well, you keep adding 100k players to your arsenal, you'll be just fine.

Alright, since this is my personal "What the Heck is Going On?" thread...

Normal vs. TIE... check
5 to 12 TO advantage... check
13 to 18 PF advantage... check
starting guards $78k vs $23k... check
starting C/PF $143k vs $92k... check

Oh wait, my team somehow shot 32.9% from the field? 57.9% free throws? Well that sort explains most of the rebounding and assist difference. And that 18-point loss! Not even close in the end!

I look at my stats from the past few seasons to see if my team was this bad before this season, and I just can't figure this one out. It's a strange one indeed.

Eh, it's all good fun.

it is very strange. the black swan visits BB.

seriously though, it is probably an anomaly - a 1 in 100,000 event or maybe even less... so you will get your revenge against me when we meet again later in the season.

Carbon had a big game and didn't foul out for a change
41 11 - 13 0 - 0 4 - 4 2 17 1 1 1 0 4 26 15.0

The main problem was the third quarter - just a bad one for your team.

Yeah, I think my team is just snake bit this time around. I recognized what my team's problems were last season but rode out the storm and figured I'd adjust this season, but between the foul issues and now the shooting problems, I'm about 2 games worse than I was anticipating. I might have to go on another spending spree to save the season.

yes, he is a little miffed that there are so many better centers in our league, so he is trying to lead the league on fouls per game. So far, no one else comes close.

I am telling you - if you think this is bad, you should see him at practice.

10/27/2010 - New York Chunks has just acquired Alfonso Elizalde for $ 1 640 800.

So much for balancing my budget. Now if I have just one more terrible shooting performance...

It's funny when I see a News post about someone buying a player for ~ $1.5 million, I think to myself "Man, here comes another $100k Center in our league".

Guards are still at a premium. Much harder to train. I spend too much time watching the market...
