It is calculated based on the total salaries of your league at the beginning of the season.

I thought tv revenue depended on the number of star players in the league. If its total salary that matters then leagues where teams have more players will produce more revenue even if the players are crap.

How would "star players" be identified if not by salary? (don't say NT player or else virtually ever 3rd, fourth, fifth and 6th division league would have the exact same tv contract)

I don't know the exact formula but number of players has a relatively small impact on the total salary across an entire league. Teams that tend to horde bad players are hording $3k a week guys. No one has a team of 20 $20k players. It is also possible to imagine that the game is designed to peg TV contracts against the average salary in the league.

additionally to the thing that the faq said, the overall quality of the "complete" divisions plays a role. So every second division of a country, is close to each other in the tv contract.

You're right, there's no proper way to identify star players. I'd read that somewhere though - must have been a misinformed statement. What you say does make more sense - average or total salary is a more definite measure. I just thought it was funny that you can get more tv revenue because you have more players sitting on the sidelines.

i don't know how it is realised, but maybe the system determine the impact of the player by the salary structure in the team.

So that the best paid player, have the most impact on tv money while number 15 didn't get considered. Maybe this would be a way to consider the "stars"

Hmm...that might work. But how many players would you consider and how would you assign weights? For example if one team has a huge drop in salary from player 1 to player 2 and another has players around the same salary.

I think chris902 is right and that its just the total or average salary that is taken into account. Otherwise it would be complicated and possibly unfair.

then at the beginning of each season every team can buy like 50 crappy players for 1k lose on that 200k (50k for transfers), 150k for salaries, but merchandise will be much bigger than it would normally be if salary average for a league increases 150k. t might be worth a try

lol I've thought about doing it :P But it would only be really effective if everyone in your league did it. But I doubt you will convince everyone to do it.

yeah, but it is unfair to players. TV revenue should be the same for all leagues II in given country, the same for league III in given country etc.

It should also depend from the size of a country.

Some leauges in a country are harder than other leagues from the same country. Why should't they get more tv revenue?
