lol maybe... :P

I know shot blocking affects the percentage of the opponent making a shot, and only shots that are 100% blocked will appear on the stats. So perhaps it is simply that the lack of blocks is misleading. But I would still expect higher than 2 blocks a game average for someone with such high shot blocking.

For what it's worth, with my two main PF trainees, one has respectable SB, the other has strong. Guess which one averages more blocks per game. Yup, the guy with respectable. I suspect ID may have something to do with it. You may be great at swatting balls, but if you can't defend, you won't get the opportunity. Purely speculation on my part, but it does make sense.

They're both respectable. So either sub-levels have an impact on performance or I'm completely off-base in my suspicion. :)

Sub levels definitely impact performance. And I have no doubt that shot blocking and defence work together a lot. But the guy with phenomenal shot blocking has good defence...and still not many blocks...so I'm confused :P

His average last season was 2.4 blocks per game. The number seems about right considering he is two levels beneath legendary, and Hakeem Olajuwon only averaged around 3 blocks/game.

What I'm more surprised about is that his record number of blocks per game is 7. I have a guy on my team who is an 18 year old rookie with only an average shot blocking skill and mediocre game shape, who played his first ever game today on TIE vs a CT and made 7 blocks. So right now, he has a 7 block per game average, haha.

2 blocks a game doesn't seem right. I have had players on strong shot blocking to prominent shot blocking average 2 blocks per game, so having 8 levels higher should average much more blocks. At least 7 a game. If you had phenomenal rebounding you would get an insane amount of rebounds. Obviously rebounds are more common than shot blocking, I'm just saying that at such a high level of shot blocking 2 per game isn't enough. You are essentially paying 50k salary per block.

The way I see it is..

He may not always block a shot, but he may often change a shot...

True, but how much does it affect the shot compared to if you simply took the 8 extra pops on Shot Blocking and put them on Inside Defence instead.

Also, I'm sure he changes a lot of shots, but still only 2 blocks a game with 18 shot blocking?? Seems very low!

Don't know the answer to how much it affects the shot, obviously, but moving 8 SB pops to 8 ID pops will make the player's salary jump about 71%.

haha true. Well how about if you take 10 pops of SB and put 5 pops on to ID. That is the same salary approximately. Which would be more effective...interesting...
