If the player info is hidden, what do you think? The only way to get it is just asking the owner only.......if the owner doesn't cooperate, then the coach can think about to use an 'unknown' but stronger player or a 'known' but weaker player..........'strong' and 'weak' depends on the coach's mind.

as long as the player info is hidden then there shouldn't be a problem...though setting the offense and defense doesn't seem to be that important, might as well just leave it as is. not to mention real life all star games rarely have any offense and defense tactics.

No but it's definitely more of a Run and Gun or Motion style game with less perimeter or inside defense compared to what base offence and man to man produce.

Still i'm sure managers would co-operate with a would be All Star coach by putting their best players forward for it. I know i would and i wouldn't be too bothered about them seeing my players stats because at the end of the day it's how the whole team that performs that matters not just one or two players!

Maybe active teams could nominate (5?) players for the All-Star game, and BB would select (3?) players from inactive teams and bots. The nomination could take effect now, after the 1st round of conference play. These would be the players voted on for the All Star team.

Then BB would show the ongoing vote for the All Star team, with players getting a bit of a boost when they played at home, or away before a large crowd. And maybe there could be a way to vote for the better players of the opposing team after each game, which would have some effect on the "fan" vote.

The coach of the All-Star team will be the owner of the team with the best record in each conference a couple of weeks before the All-Star Game.. The five starters will be selected by the fans, and then the coach could pick the 2nd 5 from among the 2nd and 3rd place voter getters at each position, and then pick two others.

There really isn't a need to know the actual skills of the players, and the other teams can lobby for their players or not, whatever they choose.

The coach could set the depth chart for the game, but the fan votes would determine the actual starters for the game. Tactics could remain as they are now with little or no defense.

All of the above should work even if all the teams are bots. But it could spark a little bit of interaction in leagues that are interested.

Why not let the computer decide which players should participate to the game among the active players only ?

Too many leagues are entirely bot, or mostly bot, or have teams that go bot, or assigned new owners and players.

Letting active managers nominate more players, and also giving them some role in voting for the players, and perhaps giving more influence to teams with more fans will tend to skew the results toward the more active teams, but will still work OK if few or even no owners participate.

I've also thought about the players' problem, but there's a lot of players to choose. How many votes should BB give to the users? 8/10? And will them vote for their own players only? If yes.....there'll have a lot of players that get 1 vote......After that, the server still need to set a rule to choose who will be the top 10.......it will make a heavy work load to the server, so I've given up this idea, but i still have a dream that all the players can be chosen by the coach ;P

there should be done that users could vote just for other teams players... can`t vote for his own players... that would be fair...

My idea is that the All Star voting woud somewhat simulate real All Star voting, where the teams often have ballot stuffing nights. So if you drew good crowds, your players would get some more votes.

I could see a couple of ways to involve individual teams more. Before all star voting began, each team could nominate five players (probably one per position). Bots would have 3 players nominated. These players would be placed on the "fans" ballot, and would accumulate votes related to how these players perform each week.

When you played another team, you could perhaps rate 3 of the opposing team's players. This would cause the "fans" to vote more for these players. It will also encourage owners to notice particularly good players in the conference.

And then I'd have one owner be the coach for each conference's team. He would have to use the 5 players that were named starters, but then he might be able to choose either the 2nd or 3rd place player in the fan voting, without being able to see their skills, and then maybe choose 2 others. He'd also be able to set the depth charts.

In some leagues, their might be discussion in the league forum about which players to pick.
