Oh really??? Ok 2 contradicting points now. I've done this myself a few times but sometimes the player B got more than 12 minutes (like 18 minutes) but sometimes he got less than 10 minutes...

the reserve role, usually only impact it when the backup or starter get in serious foul trouble(normally that means early 6 fouls with let them play) or injurys where he virtually promoted a spot. Sometimes he also get subbeb when you have a high blowout win.

The same goes when you assign someone double times, and yes the minutes ain't constant, and you would get different result even with the same starter/backup combinations - but as a rough estimate i would say 10-12 minutes should be normal for the backup.

Try it and find out, I still think around 15 minutes is to be expected though if your backup is of a decent standard, or your starter has lowish stamina.

The problem with this is that playing minutes depends on different situations. Since under a normal condition, the starter receieves 36 minutes and the backup 12 minutes, I was hoping that there's a fixed number of minutes a player whose set as the back and reserve receives under a normal condition. I'll try it many times and try to come up with my solution.

Well if you use the argument that a walkover distributes minutes per position as they would normally get, then backup + reserve = 12.

But in my experience, backups often play a bit more than that, but maybe it was just for my team.

Well personally I think 12 minutes for the backup is more or less correct, but who knows. Like I said, it depends on every situation, so I guess there's no one answer.

Yeah I always take that into a consideration. So it's pretty hard to find a situation where the starter gets 36 minutes and backup gets 12 minutes exact. It rarely happens.

If your playing a hard opponent were the game is tight your starter will get more minutes and your backup will be left with less minutes. And if the game is an easy one your bench will play almost the whole 4th quarter. Take that into consideration to.

it's true. I usually play strictly follow depth chart, once my starter plays 30 mins and other game plays 43 mins which means the back up once get 18 min and other game gets only 5 mins!
there is not any exact chart for it. it is completely come backs to the game!

I also experienced different minutes from backups between 4th league and 3rd league last season.

In 4th league I had only one decent competitor. If I exclude blowouts, my starters played about 28-32 minutes.

Last season in 3rd league I was underdog in almost half games, so my starters played more than 32 minutes almost always.

So it really depends also on the opponent.

Agreed. So it would become much harder to give more minutes to backup if it's a very very close game. Oh, but what happens, if the backup is siginficantly better than the starter??? Will the starter still get more minutes in this situation?
