I accept the fact that you can have a better team and lose due to some random.
I cannot accept the fact that you can't pick the players you have and want because they are "injured" due to "bad luck".

Come on, injuries suck! Suck for everybody, unless for your opponents! And even if your opponent gets his best players injured (wow, some good luck, hoho...) the fun vanishes, because you know you are very likely to win.

In cup, you can't pick your best players because of Game Shape, do we have to suppress game shape ?


No, game shape is fine. But in normal conditions you can choose which players will play in the cup or in the league. When a player is injured he can't play in both cup and league.

But my real point is: if I had the chance and skills to develop a cool game like buzzerbeater I would never create a feature like injuries that only makes managers (i.e. clients) pissed off. Or maybe I'm wrong and there are managers who really feel happy about their own players' injuries.

Paying more than 100k for a player is already a heavy burden to carry, there is no need to make a manager pay an injured player's salary and not being able to use that player. Long term injuries as they are are just nonsense punishment. Let the players play and let the managers have fun. Period.

I am against those long term injuries as well, because they can do way too much damage. While one injury can be harmful, a second or even third injury can kill a team

I would love to see injuries be capped at 1 week, but at the same time a significant increase in smaller injuries that take out a player for lets say 1 quarter of a game - that would finally force teams to put together real rosters with real backups.

I am sorry for you, I think we can all understand your frustration.

It's more a rant than a suggestion though.
My highest-paid player has picked up an injury in the season's last game, I miss him, I am trying to escape demotion. And still, I can't look at things like you do.

Injuries aren't a punishment, it's part of the game, it's part of the simulation. What kind of serious management game wouldn't have injuries ? They are frustrating, unfair, they are IRL too, coaches don't give up, it's unfair they might never be able to win that championship again. And that player who is sensational FT and has just missed two from the line, it's unfair but you shouldn't look at it like that.
You don't want to accept it can happen,that's what is frustrating you but it's a game feature like any other and essential to the simulation, you can't really make the common injury shorter than 1 or 2 weeks without making the feature a complete joke. Injuries can be made to last for one game or one QT at most and one could still come posting here with the exact same argument as yours that it's unfair, unmanagable, makes him angry...

You want control, absolute control. Experience the game differently. Accept randomness, twists of fate, they are the challenge. We are not playing chess. Stop planning now, react. You can still win. You have made it to the finals without your first-choice center, was he injured 2 weeks ? If that's the case he can come back any day now. That will be your experience of the game for this season, enjoy it and learn about yourself, it will probably never happen again, it's your unique chance to 'live' this. Stop thinking punishment/reward, it doesn't make sense :) Actually, I really think you can still win and it will be all the more enjoyable for you.

Injuries are a part of the game. In my third season I had just promoted to division II and put all my eggs in one basket and spent $2.5 million on a superstar player to lead my team to victiry. Naturally he was constantly injured and my team was relegated. It sucked but it was my fault for spending all my money on one player and totally depending on him.

If you ever play NBA live the injuries are much more brutal there where guys can be out for 20 weeks - basically a whole season, and it can happen to multiple players at the same time.

And there is real life, where your players don't just get injured for 4 weeks, but for seasons, are never the same or have their careers randomly come to an end.

I had my two best starters injured the week before the playoffs a couple of seasons ago and it definitely cost me promoting. It sucked, but I got better depth the next season. It paid off as one of my key guys got injured again right before the playoffs, but my backup was good enough to hold down the position and I promoted.

Injuries do suck, but they are part of the game. Like other posters have said, be thankful injuries arent season long and that injuries dont end careers or create player abilities to go down!

As far as real life, just look at guys like Greg Oden, Yao Ming, Joel Przybilla, Antwan Jamison, Chris Kaman, Udonis Haslem, Mehmet Okur. These guys either didnt play at all or barely made it on the floor. Thats just looking at todays injury reports.

As far as playoffs, how about Magic Johnson and Byron Scott both pulling hamstrings and not being able to go against the Detroit Pistons? That surely cost the Lakers a championship.

There is no need to emulate this real life feature here. It doesn't add anything to the game.
