agree it isnt that it does nothing

but it is that that salaries of big men r already stupid even when they have low sb

big men with high sb will have much lower is, id & re for the same salary

if all your team can afford is say a c with a 100k salary then having sb is nice but would you rather have +4 in sb or +4 in is?

but coach coach said that he wanted his players to be of the NT level...
i partially agree that SB is of little use but an NT player should have atleast prominent SB...moreover we shouldnt forget that SB does account for elastic effect and if there is a mismatch between the other skills and SB then the training will slow down...
i would say that training SB to prominent is not a bad idea and it wont effect the salary to that much an extent that we should start to worry about a player reaching 100k salary just by getting a couple of pops in SB...

Thinking about a 17 all (IS, ID, RB) C, the difference in salary is roughly:

SB 4: 170k
SB 7: 205k
SB 10: 250k
SB 17: 350k

So we are talking about weekly salaries, and I don´t see it could be worth training SB to prominent when you have to pay 80k $ extra per week. This salary of 250k equals an 18 all C. Of course the BBs say SB is an important skill, but what else should they say?
It´s just about cost efficiency.

Thanks for the quick replies, I really appreciate the input. Two factors are pushing me away from training SB: 1) the added salary does seem to be pretty huge; 2) given that there aren't many people who think highly of SB, when I try to sell one of these guys (a possibility), I'd probably get more out of having extra 3-4 levels of passing than SB.

Thanks again guys.

it is at least a good question, and there are many different opions about it in the forums. So probadly you will get quite a lot good comment, but will be still confused about it.

I am also not sure about it, i know some good SB Centers, where i am not convinced that the extra salary is worth it. but i got one SB 11 eleven Center, which is normally a crappy number cause it is high enough to be important for salary and to low to matchup the IS of the opposition. He normally ends betwen 1,5 and 2 Blocks, when ou consider that the also affect the same amount of shots sgnificant with it, and C usually don't take that many shot, it is not unimportant.

So when the U21 coach, is with me, i like to go for more SB and nearly no ID training for my new U21 Center.

Does that mean very low SB can disrupt training of your other inside skills?

that was also the case before, but now the training get more "random" through it too.

The bigger difference between primary-trained skill and cross-trained skill, the bigger % of CT goes to cross-trained skill.

So let's say you have a player with 6 guard skills at 10 and 4 inside skills on 1 and you are training OD. If CT chooses an inside skill (save ID which is a secondary OD training), 85% of training will go to OD and 15% will go into that inside skill. However, if CT choosses a guard skill (in this case either JS, JR or PA), OD will train on 98% speed and 2% will go to that CT skill.

% numbers are from the top of my head of course and are there just to illustrate the point.
