While they are the hardest to train, they are also the most valuable. A SF isn't a one trick pony, if a defense has a hole he will exploit it and destroy them. Just look IRL Lebron James won 4 awards last year. When was the last time that happened. Kevin Durant is the youngest scoring champion and has won it 3 times. I'm pretty sure no one else has been able to achieve those feats.

The problem about BB Small Forwards is, that you can be easily outmatched unless you have THE ONE.

A great SF will give you plenty wins over the course of a season, but in the decisive game, a true SF might be crucially mismatched if an opponent runs and outside offense with a guard, or if the opponent goes for the inside kill with a big bulk PF.

Building around a SF might end up in a big messy series any day.

Which makes them the most valuable and hardest to train

I personally answered PF. I feel a good PF can be the focus of your offense whether you're going inside or outside, along with providing crucial defense and rebounding. Passing never hurts either!

All positions are important of course, and mismatches anywhere can prove deadly, but if I had to pick one position it'd be PF.
