Yeah it's pretty common. I think when you just start playing you can also buy 33+ players, since they will be extremely cheap anyway, so the drop in sell value won't be big. The only thing to keep into account is that they are usually more expensive salary-wise for the skills they bring, because at the end of the season you'll have 4 skillpoints less for the same salary. It's not huge if you don't buy very expensive players, and it's offset by the lower buying price. It's just something you need to keep in mind.
