Get his handling up first with some One-on-one forwards (use a five man rotation with your four other young guys) then go with Outside Defense once it hits 5 or 6, mix in a few one-on-one forwards or maybe some passing while you build his OD. Then worry about the rest. Try not to worry too much about your other young guys, they'll get their occasional pops, focus on your trainee.

I agree with the previous poster, if you believe in elastic effect, you must pump some handing first. It should go really fast in the beggining

That definitely stinks. BOO!

Do you have any doctor at all? If not, you might think of going to a level 2 or 3 doctor. Can definitely help.

Also, if your trainee is the type who draws a lot of fouls, you might have to scout your opponent and put your trainee in an offensive position where he will be defended by a low fouling player on the other team.

You can always train stamina or free throw- both of those will train injured guys.
