Great news and I believe it makes the training exemption even more valuable

By my calculations the TV money is down by a bit over 3k a week from last season

I reckon I've landed in the wrong conference - 5 of the top 6 salaries atm are in the big 8, which is quite a discrepancy.

BrisVegasSpurs seemed to be sneaking under the radar, but they currently have the highest salary bill. They are looking to sell a player which will take them to around the same salary level as Koop, but a backcourt of Degas and Shishaev will be bloody hard to stop.

I'm not liking my chances of staying up, unless I decide to buy a couple more players. Decisions...

Does anyone have a salaries breakdown? It would be interesting to see the current trends. It was very nice to have one team last season in each conference giving free wins. It makes it a lot harder when it isn't even.

I can afford this roster for a long while, whilst making a slight loss, but I'd just much rather make some money even if it means relegating

It is an interesting dilemma.

My salaries at around $700k see me break even most weeks. I don't have much of a bank balance and my current team probably couldn't win it against the big spenders.

Do I tank (which I have never done and hate) to get some cash then try to make an assault and come back or do I just battle away and celebrate the fact that I am in the top league and just keep trying to survive. Which means I could battle away, make no money then get relegated anyway.

Hmmmmm.

Welcome to my world. The extra factor is every season your stars get one season older and mine are now dropping skills and I sure don't have a spare five million to replace Lawrance and Sperbert with younger players of equal quality. I try and compete each season but never seem to have the extra three or four million that Koop seems to find every second season to make a massive million dollar team and go for it.

What you have done by staying in the ABBL for as long as you have, is quite an achievement.


Back in season 20 I made the decision to sell off some good players whilst they still had value.

Perhaps I could have stayed up for 2 or 3 seasons, but if I had of stayed up, all that would have happened is that the good players that I had at the time would have aged and continued to lose value

I couldnt see a path forward that would take the team to the top, that didnt involve taking several steps back.

That said Fishy, Urmumma & Koops have all managed to restock the vault without dropping out of the ABBL and have all won significant trophies whilst using this strategy

Yes they have all had success while I have merely achieved a lack of failure.

A lot of big moves this evening I think we are getting some hints as to people's intentions.

I don't know if you'd call it success, but I regard it as a failure. I lost not once, not twice but three times in the grand finals. One win out of four is only a 25% success rate so that in my eyes is a fail.

Having said that, I'll rather be broke and have one ABBL championship. Its totally worth it even if it cripples your team for seasons.
