What would be your thoughts on 17 year old draftees? They would be somewhat rare, less common than 19 year olds, but I do think there should be some. Not everyone graduates high school at 18. That would give an extra season of quick training which would build all around better players.

Well, considering we are playing european league structures, you could even make a point for 14 year old players.

I'd rather want the draft to be gone and a youth squad for every team. That way we could really work towards building homegrown players developed for a certain system/plan. But thats a totally different suggestion than what OP wants.

That would be a good idea also. Every team has a youth team. Maybe ages 14-17? You buy trainers just like you would for your team.

I also like the youth-team option. And then you can still decide which strategy your playing. Developing young players for your team, making money whilst selling them at age 18 or just continuing the "normal" way (buying players that suit you etc.). You could also direct the money that goes into scouting points into this youth-academy. Probably a lot of thinking to do on this part, but I really like this idea

The one thing I think is good about a YA idea is that it would eliminate the draft from BB, which is something that thematically makes sense in a game design for basketball as it works in the USA specifically, but whose implementation in this game has too little reliance on managerial skill and much too much randomness. In that regard, it kind of sounds like Hattrick's abysmal "match engine". ;)

Hattrick has a youth academy. That's where the idea comes from.

Whether any good parts of Hattrick were brought to BB is a matter of opinion. Some good things were added, though, in my opinion.

lets get back to the topic. Your idea of increased seepd for lower skills would be even better if it was gradually and not dependent on a specific boundary. But I don't know if this would be hard to code.

It would give an advantage to those people training multiskilled players, and possibly motivate more players to train B-skills. Thats nice.
On the other hand it would take away an advantage you have as a new/poor player with knowledge and skill against old players who are too lazy too train long time and sit on a lot of money. at the moment you can beat them because you train low salary/highTSP players, if this would be easier there would be those players all around. I dont know if i make sense here.

I think we already have this feature with the balancing effect training has for several seasons now..
