Well, you can see the path I took in my team diary on the offsite. (Shameless plug for the offsite to any managers that aren't using that tool!). I bought McCabe last season when the rookies released. He cost a couple million. Then Monk was available and at the time one of the better U21 prospects for this upcoming season. He didn't fit my plans perfectly but wanted him to stay American so I grabbed him too. I got a level 6 at first with 80k per week salary but his salary was jumping like 1.5k or 2k per week. I was just going to juggle the high cost guys as the math made sense. Then I happened to see a level 7 trainer on the market with a 24k salary. With an hour to go he only had a million for a bid. It was a Saturday afternoon and I was a few beers in, let's just say I paid considerably more than a million for him, thank you alcohol fueled competitiveness.
That all being said, I do want to develop McCabe to be a NT member.

He got 15 pops last season which is great considering I didn't hit the elastic build up first, due to Monk's needs. Getting 4 pops in OD and still getting 15 pops was pretty damn good. With the addition of Duke Murry, they will get a full season of one on one forwards this season. I expect another 18 pops knowing his sublevels. Originally he was going to be a scoring guard for the national team but with Murry destined to be a PF with insane secondaries, McCabe may be going defensive SF route.
