Just as when prices were going up and had been higher in the past, they're going down now but they have been lower. Probably even as recently as before the current trend for inflation.

Top level players haven't dropped much, and for the really good ones, not at all; but the market for those below the top level is definitely doing down.

Yes, trainers and arena. I am afraid these two things are taking money out of the market.

Money in the system increased the last several seasons with increased promotions, and for other reasons linked probably to increased experience of users who know how to reduce spending. This needed correcting. However, you could be right that the recent new expenses are taking too much money out. This definitely needs to be watched. A correction may need to be made in another area to improve the economic balance.

Prices are lower than when they used to be, but you have to keep in mind that before that (S35-40) prices were almost as high as they've ever been in BB.

Also prices are still a lot higher than they were in the S20-30 era. Not to mention the player quality on the market isn't too great right now.

My guess would be that ofc the prices are going down at the beginning of a new season due to, as said before here, managers try to get rid of lost weight, e.g. old players, high salaries or just players who doesn't fit their scheme.
Furthermore, the aquisition of new staff increases at the beginning of every new season, also managers are spending money on the arena update, which means overall less money is available and managers will get less money on the market for mediocre players.
Well trained players are still worth a lot but rare. The "buy a young player - 1on1 training - and sell" syndrome is still omnipresent.
My personal guess is, that we don't have to worry about those lower prices right now, once managers aquired their arena update and saved up some money again, prices will rise again. I think this is just a temporary state.
I am more concerned about the overall low quality of players on the market, which is really frustrating. I either have to have really deep pockets or a loooot of time to be able to bit on players at ridiculus times of the day. But that might be just me...

Cheers!

Some are overpaying salaries above their weekly expenses because they don't have a decent arena set up for their current division and they are trying to survive with overpriced players on their roster.
