I think a group stage is much more practical and equitable. For that matter the cup should go to a group format so everyone gets a chance to play a equal minimum of games.


But you can't just limit this to league winners, so you get a choice, everyone gets a shot, or it's a pay to play event.

I already stated that my pairing system is inspired by the Swiss-system.
But the "Consolation" tournament pairing system is different.
In Consolation, teams randomly get paired every week while in the swiss system, teams will play against teams with the same number of wins.


Sorry, you're right. I missed your point. And in the "Consolation" tournament indeed the pairing is random.
