I guess there is the risk on introducing in BB some pay-to-win dynamics Where I can train more than one player at once. I am no saying it should not happen, just pointing out.

I personally disagree though

Yeah fair call. I knew peeps would disagree with this post, but I posted it anyway. Discussion is good.

We are all entitled to our opinion.

I have been playing this game for almost 10 years. I have only recently rejoined as a new team. I have never cheated but I know it has happened (multiple teams etc) but this is still just a game...and an enjoyable one which is why I couldn't stay away.

While I can see how this trade option could be abused the world is full of opprtunists. I simply like the idea (and no I'm not naive; I understand how some play) that I can have a one-off trade for fun. Maybe 1 per season would encourgae those cheating managers...so maybe it could work like the HOF where a player can only be traded within their 2 teams if both players have played a certain number of games. Perhaps this will negate the likelihood of teams farming, or gaining any kind of training advantage over non-supporting paying teams.

My idea, while seemingly controversial, is meant in the spirit of having more fun. I see BB as a bit of a role-playing game and not just as a management game. Surely others do too. I have my two teams playing their srimmage against each other today and I love that, while they are merely training teams at this point, they have an opportunity to put their best players agaisnt the other team's best players.

And hell, if this feature encouraged more users to buy supporter (and no I don't represent BB nor am I involved with their PR in any way) to access this option then that is more money going into the survival of this game.

I was the manager who posted the original thread 'Is Buzzerbeater dying a slow death' many years ago. I was worried about this great game's future (which was, imo, justified). But I have returned now because not having BB in my real life isn't acceptable.

I thought this 'trade' option was a fun idea and possibly financially beneficial for BB. Nothing more.

Anyway, that's my opinion.

I'm against it too.
And there's something I don't understand: how would you define the trade boundaries? I could trade a 50yo bench-warmer and get a 27yo hall-of-famer with 130 tsp? How would this be fun for the other teams playing in my league?
Like someone said: hell NO.

I'd like however a more open market between 1st and 2nd team... For example the possibility to by at least 1 player per season from the other team. At the market price, of course, with an actual auction.

I understand your argument but there could be a trade deadline so that all teams in a league are aware that players may enter or leave teams by a certain date. I think this could add some excitment. And yeah, sure, a scrub and a stud could be traded but the manager still has to allow for his team's salary floor and weekly expenditure etc

And sure an option to buy a player between 1st and 2nd teams sounds good but how could there be a fair purchase and a fair auction. The very reason I suggested the topic in this thread is the unlikeliness of being able to buy a player from our 2nd team ever being an option in BB. How can it? How would it look?

Would the GE provide a purchase price based on the average sales of like-players? Would there price brackets for players in certain skill/salary brackets? How could a 1st team purchase a 2nd team player and vice versa?

I like the idea though.

Of course. But it's not cheating if BB incorporates it as part of the GE.

I’m also against trades between the 1st and 2nd team....

How about enabling trades between teams within the same league? With 16 teams in any given division ( so no “up” or “down” trading between divisions), we could think about NBA-style of trades. Imagine deadlines, player deals or BB-money trades.... perhaps even scouting points or first/second picks ? I’m sure I forgot additional modalities so you can complement this idea!

This could potentially lower the risk of cheating for multi-account owners... I’m also aware that this could open up new possibilities for cheating, sure... But I’m also certain that we could come up with some trading regulations.

For example: Team A possesses player John Doe, worth 2M in the regular market (average lowest selling player with similar skillpoint distribution at 1.5M up to 2.5M for the highest selling one). Team B offers 2M cash OR they offer 1.4M and 2 Veteran players worth 500k (total of 1.9M worth). Team A can choose between the offers... and so on.

The general idea should be that a team can choose to receive more or less for the same player as long as the overall selling/buying price does not exceed 10% or 15% of the overall net worth. This should be like a starting point to tackle potential daytrading issues as well as illicit money transfers between teams (Im also certain that a system could be put in place for surveilling conspicuously high or low trade values...

There are more aspects about this idea for sure, Im just intrigued what you guys think about it.

This isn't really what this thread is about but I think it ties in. I don't like this suggestion but something I have always thought might be neat is to be able to buy/trade money for people's draft picks if you wanted. For instance if you have the 4th overall draft pick and someone else has the 1st overall pick, and you would like to select two players that you have scouted you could send them an offer (200k, 100k, or less depending on the position) for their draft pick.

This would obviously just be for your specific league but could help with a couple of things:

1. Make most people want to invest more into scouting and the draft.
2. Create more league discussion.
3. Allow managers to not have to select three scrubs randomly when they are a top team in the league and not trying to draft young players. They can sell their draft picks to others for some cheap but simple cash.

Very rough idea, but I think it works better than the trading of actual players between teams. (If this gets a positive response I can always make a thread for this so it has its own discussion page.

To Jovilux and E.B.W

I like both of your ideas. Both would need adjustments to be viable but both work towards the survival of this game. Namely, through, as you put it, E.B.W, generating more discussion, give greater relevance to aspects like drafting (whether you have any chance of securing a gun trainee or not, and make the game a little more fun.

+1 to both of you.
