I have the impression that it is less...but I think 45 minutes would be good.

I feel like it's been less also. i'll run an experiment today to find out. but in any case 20 min is still pretty low.

I think 20 minutes is fine. Do you really ever type a 20 minute long post in the conferences? It should only time you out if you've been inactive for that long, I think the problem is that it's not close to 20 minutes, which is why they're rewriting the forums at the moment.

I think 45 mins is pretty long, and just puts unnecessary strain on the server.

20 minutes is not fine. Not fine at all. And there is no need for me to say anything more about it, because the dozens of complaints about it in the forums since BB started speak for themselves.

The BB's even tried already to increase it to 40 min, but there is some sort of issue making that impossible, and they are still trying to overcome that.

How can you say 20 mins is not fine? When has it ever taken you 20 minutes to make a single conference post? If it does, I think you may need some typing classes. ;)

You can't equate user complaints with 20 mins not being fine, since it currently very random, and somewhere in the range of 7-10 mins.

I don't think it is 'very random'. It is 20 mins.

Storing session information for 40 instead of 20 minutes is not that big of a deal in my opinion. Especially on this site where I do not see the use of session data being used regularly (even though I think it should be more often). I would imagine the data being stored in tiny and would not be a problem.

And ALL activity in the forums at the moment is not counted as activity on the BB site which means if you are reading posts and replying for 20 mins you get timed out when you go back to the main site. This is being fixed in the new forums - currently in beta testing

I ran the experiment more than once, it is 20 min now.

And I don't take longer than 20 min to write a post here, but I do to write several posts or to read several posts.

And by the way, I can also take more than 20 min to translate huge paragraphs from the rules page.

And once again, several users have complained here about the session timeout been to short. It is really annoying.

BB is the only website I have to login over 10 times a day...

I'm confused, are you saying it's fixed or it's not? My only real complaint was that it wasn't 20 mins (when it was supposed to be), so if it's working now, I'm more than pleased.
