You're assuming that your league mates are putting maximum dollars into scouting. If they are not, investing in scouting could help out big time.

Actually, I'm not. I am only investing $10/wk in scouting, and as I and my league mates are all in div. III, $20k/wk is about the maximum that is really affordable. I seriously doubt anyone in my league is investing $40k on a regular basis.

I was just attempting to agree with the OP's suggestion for a running total of scouting "points" to be displayed. There are some weeks (i.e., those with TV games), where a club has extra $$ to spend on scouting, and some weeks where scouting more than a bare minimum is counter-productive. Fluctuations in the amount spent on scouting, (along with the fact that scouting for season 3 started before the end of season 2) make it difficult to recall how much scouting has accumulated. A running total would be nice, is all.

I my conference and a lot of lower conferences, there are a lot of Bots. What's their scouting and drafting strategy? Is it just totally random?

I finished last season as the only human manager in my league, and I got my first preference in the first round, and my second preference in the second round (11th preference in the 3rd round, for those keeping score).

In order for a bot to beat a human manager to a great player, I'd suppose you'd have to be pretty unlucky.

For comparison, I finished last season with a league that was probably about half active managers, half bots. Maybe slightly more bots. I had the second best record in the division, so I had pick #15.

Round 1 - 3rd preference
Round 2 - 16th preference
Round 3 - 38th preference

Needless to say, that sucked. :) None of those guys are still on my team.

Its a sad state of affairs when your third preference sucks...

I don't know if you're knocking me or the draft system in general. :)

My third preference was alright - 18yo with a respectable skill or two, I believe. Just not what I needed for a trainee. I sold him for... umm, I have no idea. He's not in my transfer history, and his player page transfer history says that he's always been with his current owner. Weird.

Was kinda knocking the draft system. And I imagine that a couple seasons down the pipe it will be in dire need of an update.

Last season they said rookies could be from 18-22 but I don't recall seeing a rookie above 19 yrs old.
