now let me ask you, where did I say he wouldnt make a good trainee? I would train him differently, but where did I say he wouldnt make a good trainee. I very much would like to know.

No, he wasn't asking for advice on training. He asked whether his guy was any good or not as a trainee.
Eminence said he wasn't an U21 prospect but would be a good club player if simeone took the long term view and invested time training him and I took issue with that, as I thought it was poor advice.
My advice was the guy was difficult to train and it wasn't worth it. If the original poster takes my advice, he'll find a better trainee that he can make a more effective player.

Elitism? That comment says more about you than me. I have a lot of experience, and I'm happy to help where I can. Generally, I'm more than happy to let the U21 management team get on with handling the requests for help - but I'm going to intervene if I see what I think is poor advice being given out.

thanks for the advice, did'nt mean to get it into an argument though, I'll sell him and look to buy a better prospect.

it totally amazes me how some people dont read the whole message but are so selective and only read what they want to read. first off all I never said this, that he shouldnt train the player just because he isnt EBBL standard

And yes he said he wouldn't be a good mid level div 2 player, yet here we have a new player we can bring into the community and help him learn how to play the game properly without any problems we had, yet we have experienced players encouraging teams not to train based on the player not being worthy in their league! It sucks.

This is a player who at least can be a worthy starting slot in an rising team, i dont see many 50000+ pf in my league, really we should be telling this guy to look for another worthy 18/19 C level 7 + prospects with this skillset and train them together, advise him on the merchandise benefit of training your own draft picks, why you need a good coach, etc.

Astragoth, the comment 'elite' wasn't directed towards you, but it says a lot about a man who hears the word 'elite' and then embarks on a paragraph defining description of himself, before commenting on why others have problems. I would describe you as a guy who likes having petty arguments on forums. Elite? don't make me laugh!

The comment was 'elite', referring to your current status of rank, nothing more dude, i never said the word 'elitism', you are taking this in the wrong context of what was meant.

The point i was making is that you are looking from your point of view based on your ebbl contender role, this guy's trying to promote from div 3!

you are right, it isnt worth it talking to people who make discussions on the forums personal.

Fine. You're incorrect in your assumption on my perspective though, although I can see why you made it.
It's all to do with promotion strategies. Training a club-drafted player who will give you a merchandising edge through representing the NT/U21s is good strategy. If they aren't good enough to either make the NT or be a star player for your club at the end of their training, you'd be better off forgetting you drafted them and simply going on the Market to find a trainee that's the best fit for your training strategy.
Hence, my advice is that this was a player best sold.
Fluff is right, he could be trained into a half decent centre - but other than the thrill of it being a draftee - it's not the smart move.

P.S. Sell and buy back is a smart strategy if you have your club set up well enough to generate the cash to pay a short-term premium on the buyback transfer fee!

Ah yes, the difference between a good and a great manager. On reflection, I'd have been better BB-Mailing Eminence rather than rebuking him pubically. In the context of how long I've known him for on here, it's not as rude as it looks. Honest.

Do you go through draft and make some kind of list of potential players ?
i`m just curious .and a bit lazy to go through all posts
