I think the lack of a response speaks volumes as to motivation for posting in this thread...

Quick update on our NT.

We finished round 2 with a 4-1 record beating Taiwan and Hong Kong along the way, but taking one bad loss to Singapore. I take full blame for the loss as it was likely the result of my own bad decision making, and it may prove costly. We landed in second place in our group which puts us against China in the first round of the playoffs. If we had been 5-0 and in first place we would be playing Iran. No offence to Iran but I think China is certainly the more difficult opponent.

If we win our next game we will qualify for the World Championships for the first in history of Japan National Teams. We will play the next game on Thursday this week since its the end of the seasons. Wish us luck!

Clearly, the best win in the history of the Nippon NT - both in terms of the opponent, and what the win means. Well done sir... that should be a healthy boost to the ranking too!

Our bigs were - suprise, surprise - simply too good! Next game's gonna be tough...

Best win ever! 45 free throws to 13 was the game factor was it bribed refs or the fact that LI is still totally OP?

Well, we lost the final to Iran. I did everything I could against their formidable Look Inside Offense but didn't quite have the GS on our bigs and fell a bit short. Either way, we had a great result this season, far better than I could have expected. Our first silver trophy and we will play with the big boys in the World Championships next season.

If you haven't ever looked at the World Championships structure, there will be 12 teams divided into 2 groups. The first 8 teams are the finalists from each regional championship with the final 4 to come out of the Repechage. The top 4 teams out of the 6 in each group advance to the second round. From there the top 4 will play an elimination tournament.

Being realistic with what we can expect there, I'm setting our goal to finish with at least 2 wins in the first round and advance to the second round.
