Ofcourse injuries are just random. Just like in real life, you never know if and/or when you will have injuries. If you could foresee your injuries in a paranormal way with a glass ball or something, then what would be realistic in that?!
Fair point, but I was merely trying to point out that another injury system might exist, with something more than just "shit happens". Of course that's my opinion, and I certainly don't expect everyone to share it (what would be the point of having an opinion otherwise).
Don't turn my words around please, i never said random factor is better than careful calculations. It's not a question of favoring one over the other. Both types are important in a simulation game.
I didn't mean to completely remove injuries, but a more controlled and less random event would have pleased me. My view on management games is that it always needs less random and more complexity. This combination has made me quit other sport management games, most notably hattrick. Unfortunately, when I want random now, I log into Hearthstone, this wasn't always like that though :(
But I respect your point of view, I just don't share it. And maybe I wrote it more agressively than I wanted to, sorry for that.
As for injuries, so far I've been relatively spared, but I can imagine how frustrating it must be when a season gets crushed by an untimely injury, whether one is going for a promotion, a trophy or merely fighting for survival in the play-downs. (I really could see myself yelling at my computer, not that it would change anything) This is easily the work of one season, if not more, that can be reduced to ashes because of random, that's a bit harsh.
