And surprise, surprise this decision comes just in time for the ASG, meaning that after next week, you are very likely going to storm home. Then after the Cup is over, you'll have a monster salary team sitting around, which will allow you to roll over any competition you might face in the playoffs, on your way back to the ABBL. Haven't I been singing this song all season long??? Hahaaaaaa!

Whitebeard's analysis was a bit scary.

Left Melbourne on Friday night and apart from a quick use of in Hong Kong airport, Ive only just got my internet on today.

Ofcourse because of this I missed out on the 3 big monsters I bid on.

Dont suppose I could ride my luck for 2 wins in cup games this week with my existing team?

All good fun, but Whitebeards warning is a worry

On a side note, anyone think my $100k SG is a chance to sell? I've never put players on the market at this time before and looking at similar players, even though he's older, I think he's reasonably priced for someone trying to take out a championship.

I've been having a look at a number of Div III teams, generally those at the top of their leagues and I think a salary between $250k-$300k will be manageable. My arena is far larger than most that I've seen so far. Does anyone have any recent knowledge of what I can expect cash-wise next season?

I had a dab at a $80k PF (24yo) last night. Had been watching and he was still at his first bid price of $1mil, right up until 11pm, due to finish at 1:30am. It was one of those, "if it happens then it was meant to be" bids but looks like it wasn't' meant to be.

Basically i'm trying to work out how expensive a starting 5 I can run with and I am willing to make purchases in the coming weeks to get ready for demotion. I think a $160k-$180k front court would certainly make winning in Div III much easier, considering the rest of my team is likely to cost $100k-$120k. Just looking for feedback.

just buy players inthe playoffs its much cheaper :)

your roster will depend on which div 3 you go :)
90k C and 80k pf will be pretty advantageous

yeah agreed

the strength that you'll need for your team really depends on which div 3 you land in. Some are much tougher than others. I probably wouldn't pull the trigger on buying a div 3 ready roster now.. better to wait and see what div you land in and then gauge the type of roster you'll need then.

I also wouldn't go for a full lineup for an entire season - just have enough to be in playoff contention, then buy up mid season or something, unless you want to go 22-0 and try for a deep cup run as well.

cheers guys, especially you Regan... :-P

I probably did get a bit excited when I saw the possibility of having the twin towers back in my line up. Two 7 footers both valued between $80k-$95k seemed like an unbeatable prospect but it's probably a good thing I didn't win the bid. I should be sticking to my guns and saving up as much as possible, ready to purchase up late in the season or early next season. I'll put the gun back in the holster now...

Still hoping to sell off my SG though, will keep running him until some title hopeful team goes all in with a purchase!

Looks like we have a bidder! Might have to buy in another rookie to get me back over the salary floor. What happens when you fall beneath the SF? Do you just get penalised up to the amount you are short?

Not sure why you would spend money now. I would be saving the $$$ for another 4 weeks.
