With a small group of potential trainers keeping MVP+ for only NT will servirley limit the 21 NT. It is more then possiable to train someone who can play 21 NT and be a well rounded NT player also. In fact getting a guy to play 21 NT can encourage training longer to make them a good NT player. Here are some who are currently on the Australian NT who also played 21 NT

And Ryan McMillan just missed out as we had a very good group of Gs that season.

Thats 11 of the current Australian NT who played 21 NT also. The 2 do not need to be mutual exclusive. In fact from my experiance playing both keeps managers interested in training the player and also allows them to solid players for the NT and their own teams.

Lots of people in the past almost exclusively used covert 2nd teams to train their NT players. I hated this about NT system. Probably its still going on but I haven'T been around so I can't say. Even Japan has farm-fresh players on its NT. Guys were caught redhanded double-teaming SPECIFICALLY to boost our NT. They closed the accounts and made the products FAs....and those players are still in the NT system. They do this globally. All the cheater has to do is sign up again and they are right back at it plus the fruits of their labor not lost.

Pretty sure this is merely speculation on your part. It was then, it still is. Whilst I am quite sure that people game the system, being specific about Japan isn't something you *know* 100%.

I will join the ranks with MMM as a team devoted only to NT training. Looks like YC already is going that route.
