Draft--how many NBA teams spend a bunch of money drafting young talent in order to immediately fire 33% of them?
Definitely agree. The fix is the simplest thing in the world: Allow draft picks to have core stats that are higher than "respectable," and distribute said stats less randomly, i.e. in a manner that occasionally allows a rookie to have the skills to make a starting lineup. Maybe every five or ten seasons we could see a kid with a few "sensational" or even "wondrous" abilities to start with, like a Kobe/LeBron/Dwight Howard. But only one.
Of course, this will immediately lead to a flood of complaints as some teams hit the jackpot in the draft and either acquire superstars or peddle talent they can't afford to keep for zillions of fake bucks.
Another possibility, which would just result in better players across the board, would be to start all rookies at 16/17 years old so everyone would get an extra year or two for training.
Getting rid of retarded player potentials--I like games that are open-ended. If I want to train a player until all of his skills are wondrous, I should be able to, even if the guy is 28 or something.
Bad idea. Not everyone can have the potential to be great.
Making it easier to train a SF--just one or two single-position SF trainings, & I'll be happy.
Don't know how to solve this one with the current system of training pegged to height. However, if it were pegged to both height and the training position, perhaps it could be set up so that training the SF position results in disadvantages instead for very short or very tall players. I agree that the training system is a little too simplistic right now and should be adjusted to account for the fact that some skills ought to be easier to inculcate in lanky 6'6" guys. Can't tell me a Trevor Ariza-type shouldn't train outside D faster.
Free Agents--freaking stop it. There is no reason to release an Italian with 13k salary from a bot team.
What's the problem? Don't like him, don't buy him.
Monthly ticket prices--I like the fact that I can make my own mind up about what I'm charging at the gate, but I don't like the 1st of the month restriction. Seasons don't start and end (and promotions and relegations don't take place) on the first of the month, so why should changes in ticket prices?
Agreed. But it probably shouldn't be adjustable every game. Or there should be a penalty for owners who adjust their prices all the time and piss off their fans.
