I agree... did you see that game between the Crazies and my Flyers? Whoa! My new addition hits a jumper when my team only has a second to inbound it? When in the 1st OT, Der Fuhrer and Super Mario were benched for some unknown reason?

wow double overtime, both teams had some serious offensive firepower, crazies from outside and flyers inside. I would be scared to play either of you guys. Game might be a killer on minutes managing though

Note to league....If you play the Crazies expect multiple OT periods. He must have the record for OT! Great Game!

Yeah no kidding, trust me I have had to jump through hoops more then once to get my minutes and gameshape back to where they needed to be. Luckily I had the Pistons prior to this game so the minutes weren't too bad going in but man it seems like the game engine has selected my team to be more likely to go OT.

yeah.. i didnt play my starters the last regular season game at all.. its why I lost at home..

So you guys thought I wouldn't make the summary this week? no way! lol

Semifinals in Big 8 were tougher and closer than expected. Cleveland @ Flyers was the best of Tuesday, hands down. A double OT thriller with so many ups and downs. An outside team vs. an inside team. If Stefinini had missed the last second jumper, Flyers would be heading to the beach and watching the games on TV. Flyers dominated the 2nd OT and are now in the conference finals, 126-119.

Hawks and Tachenko was another close game. Tachenko proved everyone that they can contend next year if they make the right moves. Hawks fans were nervous when they were down by 8 at the end of 1st half but 2nd half was completely another story, 103-92.

Illusion had the easiest win of the night against Investors, thanks to solid contributions by Ruperez, Statovici and Barr, 108-81. Especially Ruperez can be the X factor for this team. Fans who were expecting an epic battle between Barr and Carmona left unsatisfied.

Chow vs. Beavers or in another word, Bangerz vs. Gavno was a great game until Bangerz faded away on 4th. Stamina was the key, 116-100.

Pistons didn't surprise anyone and didn't show up, so Tuesday's only relegation game was between Dutchmen and Steppers. Dutchmen were the favorites but no one was expecting such an easy win, 103-78. Steppers' defensive struggles, Mina's offensive struggles (35% from the field) and a terrific 41-7-5 game from Dutchmen SG Donnie Hutson opened the way for Dutchmen.

Player of the day was, Mario Mannu of the Flyers with 40 pts, 15 rbds, 4 asts and most importantly a great defensive presence.

Great summary as usual.

Couple things from the Goats Management:

1. All player rankings have been completed. I decided to only show three periods of rankings: First Period includes the first seven games which were the Intra-Conference games; Second period shows Games 8-15 for the Inter-Conference games; Third Period shows the final 7 games which were Intra-Conference. Player Rankings this season are somewhat screwy thanks to the Spumante Pistons. The First Period of games, I included the stats for the Big 8 Conference for their games against the Pistons but any game against the Pistons after the First Period were not included. This created somewhat of an unbalanced ranking system because each set of games included stats for only 7 of the 8 Great-8 teams. After my Chicago Goats played the Pistons and destroyed them 122-79. they stopped playing so I feel somewhat responsible for the loss of the Pistons to this league. For the Great 8 teams that did manage to have fantastic games against the Pistons before they folded, we lost any gain the game would have given to our player's rank. However, the final stretch of games, the last seven Intra-Conference league games, the Big 8 were only fielding stats for 6 teams during any given set of games. The first seven games, I recorded stats for 7 of the 8 Big-8 teams; the final 7 games I recorded stats for 6 of the 8 Big-8 teams. The easiest way to see the impact of the commotion the Pistons caused is to see what the loss in Potential Points players could score

A single Big 8 player, should he take the top spot in the rankings for every game has the potential to earn: (1) 25 points (2) 50 and (3) 21.43. This would bring his total potential points to earn to: 96.43 points.

A single Great 8 player, should he take the top spot in the rankings for every game has the potential to earn: (1) 25 points (2) 43.75 points (3) 25. This would bring his total potential points to earn to: 93.75 points.

With that in mind, I'm going to create a Top 25 report for each conference as well and then make them available for download rather than trying to copy-paste to this forum and make them readable.


2. Finally, the Chicago Goats are undergoing some major transformations. It pains me to have done this since I was so attached to both players after many years of excellent service and contributions to the overrall success of the Chicago Franchise. Forwards Bobby Dorman and Lorenzo Capps have moved on.

Bobby Dorman has joined the KK Dolicans of the Hrvatska country. They too 7th in the III.3 Great 8 conference and won their first relegation matchup 127-125 (Dorman not eligable) and are slated to face off against Fortica of the Big 8 (Dorman not eligible). Dorman is a player I fully intend to keep up with and see how he helps the Dolicans on their quest to win a title.

Lorenzo Capps joins the Braga Rockets of Portugal in League IV.33. He joins as their only American-born player and as their highest salary player though that remains up for discussion after the off-season. The Rockets finished the season ranked #1 in the Great 8, #2 overall and after destroying their competition in the first round of the playoffs, they take on the and1 bc team (#2 Great 8, #3 overall) to hopefully move on to the Finals. The move to acquire Capps was done out of anticipation of moving up to League III in Portugal but also to make their team stronger for next season should they fail to end their 21-1 season with long-awaited Championship Title.

Lorenzo Capps and Bobby Dorman are the FINAL two original Chicago Goats. Lorenzo Capps will join Howard Mackenzie as our only two members in the Ring of Honor. Capps and Dorman's departure immediatly puts PG Clinton Cantrell and F Lowell Webber as the current longest-tenured Goat members. G/F Lawrence Coyle follows them by 1 season.

Here's your daily recap.

There was controversy and tension before the Hawks-Flyers game. But these two teams gave great effort from the beginning. Hawks were trailing by 8 at the end of the 3rd and trailing by 3 seven minutes to go. Billon and Bong were tremendous on the 4th quarter. Despite dominant play, Mannu couldn't get enough help from Woods, 106-94.

Offense wins games but defense wins titles. Yesterday it was the defense that brought Illusion another Great 8 title. Gavno struggled behind the line (2 /17) and from the FT line (55%) and things got worse and worse for them in each quarter. Chow-Garnier co. scored only 25 pts combined (their season average is 33 combined). Obregon was the highest scorer for Illusion with 28 pts. As a result Illusion is back in league finals, 85-63.

On the bottom side of the league there was some drama. Steppers force game 3 by beating Dutchmen 95-87. However, Mina has broken his left ankle and will be out for 5 weeks. This is really bad and sad news. Hope he gets well soon. Dutchmen now have no reason or excuse to lose game 3.

Player of the day was Matheu Billon of Hawks. Frenchman scored 23 pts and added 18 rbds, 4 asts.
