you have to note that kidd is way past his best at the moment. i can not say the same for nash, which actually proves a shooter is always a shooter but defense comes and goes.

I have been following Kidd since he was at St, Joseph's in Alameda. He has never been a good shooter. In fact, he is a terrible shooter, which only goes to show that you can still be one of the best players in the game and be an atrocious shooter. And I'm not sure you know much about Pete Maravich if there are any players you think are better shooters. Plus, he was an incredible passer. Maravich would be:

Jump Shot: legendary Jump Range: legendary
Outside Def.: respcectable Handling: legendary
Driving: wondrous Passing:stupendous
Inside Shot: marvelous Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: awful Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: prolific

His career was cut short by a knee injury confounded by depression drinking, but Pistol Pete was clearly the most gifted scorer to ever play the game until Jordan showed up. He averaged 44 points a game in college with no 3 point line. And in his only season in the NBA that had the triple, when he was old and decrepit, he shot 67% from behind the arc.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Kidd has developed to be a decent threat at the 3p line. Perhaps in BB we could place it under experience.

Stockton could play D. Dirty D. Smallish, nobody could take him as a tough guy, but he was. Nash has more flair than him, more enjoyable to watch but from the other side Nash never played for Sloan of something like him.

True, but also Stockton is way nice at assists! i dont think there will a player that can beat his assists per game through out their whole season, he was pushing 13 assists per game for like 9 seasons.

1. John Stockton* 15806
2. Jason Kidd 10631
3. Mark Jackson 10334
4. Magic Johnson* 10141
5. Oscar Robertson* 9887
6. Isiah Thomas* 9061
7. Gary Payton 8966
8. Steve Nash 8061

Part of the problem with BB is that its level of abstraction doesn't really allow you to accommodate for why it is exactly that Stockton got all those assists: he is inarguably the best pick and roll point guard of all time. He and Kidd are 1/2 on the assists list and both had great handles on them, but they excelled in different parts of the passing game - Stockton could play a two man half court game with Malone and Kidd was in his prime one of the best transition PGs ever. There doesn't seem to be a clear way for those differences to be fully accounted for in the stats of BB. Which is totally understandable.

i agree, but considering the main skills are limited to 12, there are more important adjustments BB could nicely implement to the game. as you said, stockton was a static passer who could make same play in perfection and kidd is a creative mind but his asist stats would have been higher if he could have shoot better.

How about this sad stat for Nash..only 762 career steals..that is just ass. Stockton has 3265( 700 more than Jordan who is in 2nd place)..762 that is just ass. Let's look at it a different way. Shaq has 720..Nash has like pitiful OD..just garbage..
