I have been following Kidd since he was at St, Joseph's in Alameda. He has never been a good shooter. In fact, he is a terrible shooter, which only goes to show that you can still be one of the best players in the game and be an atrocious shooter. And I'm not sure you know much about Pete Maravich if there are any players you think are better shooters. Plus, he was an incredible passer. Maravich would be:
Jump Shot: legendary Jump Range: legendary
Outside Def.: respcectable Handling: legendary
Driving: wondrous Passing:stupendous
Inside Shot: marvelous Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: awful Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: prolific
His career was cut short by a knee injury confounded by depression drinking, but Pistol Pete was clearly the most gifted scorer to ever play the game until Jordan showed up. He averaged 44 points a game in college with no 3 point line. And in his only season in the NBA that had the triple, when he was old and decrepit, he shot 67% from behind the arc.
Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
