Canada vs Jamaica

It was cold and frosty inside the Igloo as 19,997 people piled in to watch Jamaica take on Canada in Canadas 3rd match of the continental tournament. Canada came out absolutely flying pouring in bucket after bucket en route to a dominating 14 point lead after the first quarter. It was obvious that Jamaica could not keep up with Canadas Push the Ball offensive tactics. Kearns had the hot hand ending the quarter with 8 points to lead Canada.

The second quarter was a little bit of a different story. Jamaica seemed to adjust to the weather and the crowd and were able to match Canada. Basket for basket, up and down the court the two teams went, but Canada could never pull away more than they had in the first. It seemed like Canada had ended the half on a good note when Stavridis knocked down a jumper to put Canada up 17, but then at the buzzer Brett Franklin-Tong dropped a 3 from the top of the arc and Jamaica stormed into the dressing rooms on a high note.

During halftime, Bballin called in Kumiko, famous for her excessive use of a whip, to do the halftime speech. It seems Kumiko really whipped them into shape as Canada came storming out in the 3rd. Dropping basket after basket, making it look easy and absolutely shattering any hopes Jamaica had of an amazing upset. When the buzzer finally sounded to stop the torment, the score was 97-60 and the Canadians had all the momentum, all the enthusiasm and all the energy. Stronks really turned it up and led all Canadian scorers with 18 points.

The 4th was more of the same as the Canadians refused to show any kind of mercy. It seemed almost too easy. It was men vs boys out on the court. The Canadians stormed up and down the court and when the dust finally settled, the buzzer sounded and all that could be seen was the scoreboard lit up with the slaughter that was the final score. 135-74 was the outcome. A score that only barely pleased Bballin. Kearns led all Canadian scorers with 25 points, outdoing Stronks in both points and assists, a mini victory for Kearns and his manager Mr. Burns.

After the game Kumiko was stopped for a quick question.

What did say at halftime?

"I didn't say a word."

What happened at halftime then?

Head to the offsite forum to help plan the slaughter of Canadas next victim, Paraguay!

Canada vs Paraguay

Canadas march to glory continued in Baltic Arena as 19795 fans piled inside to catch Canadas 4th first round game of the Continental Tournament. Canada was expected to take this in a cakewalk, the fans were supposed to walk out of their with smiles sprawled across their faces, filled with joy and dreams of seeing Canada holding the Americas Championship Trophy. 19795 people walked out of that arena, exactly like that. Canada steamrolled Paraguay in an unorthodox Princeton offense that was lethal from everywhere. Canada was dropping buckets and dimes like Welker drops catches in NFC Finals. I went there. Canada was up 13 after 1 quarter with Stronks shooting 4-5 for 9 points and the game lead. In the second quarter Canadas shooters cooled down a bit, but stepped up defensively holding Paraguay to 6 points in one of the most pitiful displays of offense these fans had seen. Canada led by 28 points at halftime and Kumiko wasn't called down to do the chat. Everything was going right for the squad.

It seems Paraguay was a little embarrassed and decided to take it out on Canada. The 3rd quarter was more of the same, by the end of it they had built a 41 point lead and Stronks had scored 19 points, but Gerry Stavridis had been injured. With 10:57 left in the 3rd, he went for a driving layup and was taken down hard by Ismael Maciel Pasotti. Stavridis landed hard on his ankle, spraining it and ending his night. Canada continued to march in the 4th quarter finishing the game winning by 52 points doubling up on poor Paraguay and continuing to showcase their homecourt dominance. Stronks was the scoring leader with 29 points, adding to his already hall of fame career.

Stronks was questioned afterwards,

You played like a man possessed tonight, was that anyway linked to Kearns outdoing you last week?

"We had a gameplan and stuck to it and it led to me being on the finishing side of scoring oppurtunities. The team got the W and that's the only stat that matters."

Diant, the camera isn't recording..

"Oh. Well then yeah. That scum thinks he can win the scoring race this season? He has got another thing coming, we are typically paired together as two of the best guards for Canada and well. That's false. I am the best guard in Canada and he is my backup. He has to get that through his head. If that means I double him in scoring every game. Then so be it."

Run!

Alright. The weekend of all weekends for Canadas NT! Our perfect season is for not if we lose on Friday. So everyone check in on the offsite, and see if there is anything to be said before Friday! http://w11.zetaboards.com/BB_ECU/topic/9873024/1/

This season has not been the most active, NT wise, but the results have been awesome and I am hoping to bring Canada its first direct bid into the worlds and its first Gold trophy.

All owners of primary callups and NT players please, I urge You to train GS unless ive told You otherwise. This weekend is quite possibly the biggest in Canada NT history :)

GAME DAY

Today is the big day! At 7pm Eastern Time tune into the Semifinal matchup between Canada and Chile. The winner gains a direct bid into the World Championships next season and the loser will have to claw their way through the repechage. Chile knocked us out of the Americas last season and Canada looks to avenge that loss and get their first direct bid in NT history.

Tactics are up, http://w11.zetaboards.com/BB_ECU/topic/9873024/1/#new

I hope to be able to be in chat from the beginning to end, but might not make it until the 3rd/4th. I hope to see everyone in their cheering on Canada!!
