A lot of insightful history as usual Yoda.

For myself I promoted all the way up to ABBL pretty smoothly with only a couple of hiccups along the way. Don't know why but Buzzerbeater is one of the few management games that I got into pretty easily and actually found the game manual quite interesting. In comparison I've found other games to either have a light, heavy or badly sorted game manual. I reckon most people quit these sort of games because of the time needed to understand the game.

Back then in Australia, a lot of teams in division 2 and 3 were mediocre. With a bit of knowledge from the game manual and understanding of the game engine it was quite easy to leapfrog teams. Now a days it's totally different with the strong community in Australia and great replies from the help forum.

So a combination of luck, knowledge, planning and sacrifice got me ahead faster than most. A few of the trainees that was sold I actually wanted to train them longer but had to decide whether to hold back a season or just go for promotion. Of course I chose the latter.

is it safe to say that the direwolfs, the mllamas, the c-cats, the nik0s and bryce's were the 60's, 70's and early 80's of the NBA.. comparable to players like bill russell, elgin baylor, kareem, bird, magic.

whilst...

9 Monkey Business IV.2 Round 4
9 Koopasaurus IV.18 Round 5
9 Da Fat Boy Slim IV.12 Round 7
9 Whitebeard IV.11 Round 23
10 Chelsea Seagulls IV.7 Round 2
10 Guanzheng Goldfish Round 4

is the late 80's and 90's, with whitebeard being the MJ of the era denying everyone in this era of a championship.
koops = charles barkley
da fat boy slim = fat lever
monkey biz = ewing
goldfish = stockton
seagulls = malone

crazy talk but its comparable LOL

I always felt I was a huge part of relegating yoda that season. Every game, every thought and decision was based around being prepared for when we played against each other so I had the better enthusiasm etc as I knew early on it was either him or me to auto-demote.

It also helped that fishy was a mentoree of mine at that stage and kept telling me how yoda was a great mate and that only made me want to get over him more. I was a worthy 7th over yoda as well as I beat 6th from the other conference and didn't relegate.

So it wasn't all just bryce. Since those days I think me and yoda have had a good respect for each other too.
