Are you trying to kill everyone off? I was banking around $200k per TV match last season with a much smaller arena and 150+ less supporters. Tonight I entered a TV match at home against my rival. I was in first place with a 4 star approval rating. I pulled in $136k and continue to circle the financial drain.
I really don't get these changes. The logic behind these changes is cutting down on excess cash the landed gentry have. Problem is, they can absorb these costly changes with their pre-existing bank rolls and the rest of us trying to come up can't. I was barely staying afloat last season, but I was. This season I already find myself nearly a half million in the hole AFTER playing a home TV match against my rival.
My costliest player is Rolf Svardal (my center) who's pulling in around $35k a week ... I don't understand how with no arena costs (ala hattrick) I can't break even when I consistently win, make playoff appearances, and even field a league MVP that receives EVERY 1st place vote. What the heck else do I need to do to generate fan interest that, in turn, generates revenue? And don't bother saying "win your league", because if that's the case you're essentially telling me that 15 out of 16 teams in every division are SUPPOSED to go bankrupt and end in ruin. I love this game so damn much, but it's getting harder to every day.
Oh and by the way ... I'd appreciate it if instead of reducing the income of everyone whether they can afford it or not, you maybe cut out some crap like, oh I dunno, cash for being in B3?! I mean really, whose idea was this garbage? Probably not someone who gets to benefit from it, right? Probably no GMs who were bragging on the forums about the extra match money they get for remaining in B3 last season (name withheld). Why the hell do people who already get the prestige of being in B3 deserve money for it? Give em a supporter trophy if they need more, and beyond that just have them evaluate how stingy they are being.
You are taking measures to cut down on the benefits from daytrading ... great! Problem is, the people who benefited from it still have that money, and it's money newer teams will never see. How is this playing field level, exactly? Sorry if this is a change from two seasons ago, but it can't be ignored.
I understand what you're trying to do and the effort is appreciated, but these changes are doing far more harm than good.
If your goal was to make a balanced game that everyone can compete in and enjoy, (and no I'm not advocating the type of hippie-driven "everyone's a winner" crap so many want to see nowadays), you are failing miserably. If your goal was to make a game that the GMs and others who joined season one could dominate with little competition, you're succeeding.
My advice for your future endeavors: If you ever release a game like this, there needs to be a disclaimer upon team creation that says something along the lines of "Two seasons from now we will be resetting the game after we work out some of the kinks. Thank you for your feedback and participation in the beta test."
