Maybe they dream of being the lucky fans called in!* Cause it still simulates some sort of game even though the walkover says 0-25. Once saw a team of lucky fans draw 69 fouls from a real team, fouled out 10 of the other teams players, but unfortunately went 14-116 from the line.

*obviously this is silly, needs to be a severe drop in attendance for repeated offences

The one thing I cannot stand is the walkover. As long as point differential is used to determine tie-breakers, walkovers are a bad bad thing. I believe some serious measures should be installed against them. My suggestions have been to remove the offending team from the draft until all other draft picks have been used and to penalize a team either the income from game in question (if it is a home game) or the next home game on the schedule.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

That's BB-Marin it looked like from the the post BB-Patrick posted he looks like he is really concerened with tanking. I don't know what rank he was with BB-Marin and others but I really think BB Patrick would've done some more drastic measures to tanking, idk what BB Marin was doing but let's hope that they made it tougher for higher divisions.

Here is my cent regarding the change that will enter next season (S-21);

1) Nice to know that the BBs are hearing the noise coming from the users about tanking.
Although this is the easiest change, as it is just changing few constants, the Wanting is appreciated.

2) The salary floor did not succeed till now, as we see that the phenomenon of tanking being massive.
Hence, I'm not expecting that raising it will change that.

3) A salary cap proved itself whenever it was used in the world.
Users are tanking because they cannot compete, so they are trying to get stronger in order of being more of a competition in the future.

4) As this change will just make it harder for them to get stronger in order of being able to compete, one option is that they will get frustrated and leave the game faster.
As it seems, the departure rate is already increasing, and I believe that it is that there is an issue with competition.

5) Increasing the amount of money a team pays at an higher division means that while they keep being a team that cannot compete, they will gain less of playing at this higher division.
Hence, they may decide to tank earlier, and to pile assets there.
A phenomenon of users tanking at the playoff of their division, for not being promoted to the higher division is a very realistic option that we may see.

Thanks everyone for commenting in here. Over 500 posts!

I think it's important that we reduce the amount of negativity and be somewhat thankful that the BBs listened. They didn't have to and, I imagine, BB would still continue to grow. I think they want to satisfy their existing user base, yet not do something that will upset the apple cart.

It is a really good start to raise the salary floor, and there are some other really good ideas in here and other places that, if the salary floor doesn't work, I'm sure the BBs will take notice. Let's hope so.

In fact, I'm sure the BBs will read, or at least be directed to, some of this. In that vain, I think it's important that one of the "tanking" issues pretty much everyone wants to see addressed is the walkover problem.

Personally, I have an issue with the Fan Survey, but I'm not sure if others share my disliking for it.

Anyway, thanks BBs, for listening and taking action! From someone who enjoys the game, I'm glad that, even if a small bit, our voices were heard.

Yes, it is very good that the BBs are listening to the crowd.
But it is not something that was not tried here. The salary-floor existed before this raising, and I think it already been raised before today. Did it affected the tanking in any possitive way? No.

Basically what raising the salary floor does is to make all users of a specific league pay more for players and reduce income. Income that is used for developing the team.
So, those who could not compete and needed this money in order of growing can even do it less.
It is generally suffocating them.

The alternative way for causing teams to put the same money is to make it logical for them to waste the same money and to grow during that.
This is done by the salary-cap.
A salary-cap lowers the ability of the top teams on that league, and makes the game more competitive.
When the game is more competitive, they will not need to tank due to two reasons:
1) They CAN compete! So they don't have reasoon to tank.
They cannot take this money to the bank, they are tanking today in order of being able of competing the next day.

2) As the expenses of the league had been lowered down by the salary-floor, the net profit of the tanker team over the competing teams had been narrowed.
Which means that it is less profitable for them to tank.

sadly it didn't happen - Negativity re appeared really quickly.

You are mistaken - Salary floor wasn't raised before today. Latest change is the first time BB raised salary floor dramatically in order to fight "tanking".

Your other saying are to old and I won't waste my time on them. I just say that salary floor shouldn't be related to salary cap. If you think salary cap is the right answer to some problem, suggest it in the relevant thread (Suggest it)
