I always felt I was a huge part of relegating yoda that season. Every game, every thought and decision was based around being prepared for when we played against each other so I had the better enthusiasm etc as I knew early on it was either him or me to auto-demote.

It also helped that fishy was a mentoree of mine at that stage and kept telling me how yoda was a great mate and that only made me want to get over him more. I was a worthy 7th over yoda as well as I beat 6th from the other conference and didn't relegate.

So it wasn't all just bryce. Since those days I think me and yoda have had a good respect for each other too.

why didnt you buy up to beat me by 13 points?

u only lost by 6 points... surely a 300k center wouldve made up that 19 PD difference you needed to stay 5th...

i really thought about it & had 2 decide

my morals or my victory

i was so often on each side of the fence my head span

but in the end i dont like tanking (even though i may have 2 a little next season 2 get my willy trained @ c, no point paying a C not 2 play) & i dont like playing li/m2m every game just 2 win & i dont like rentals which despite what every1 thinks pawel wasnt, if i stay up he stays, if i demote he obviously has 2 go

sure i could have done any of those things & if i won every1 would respect me but me

so in the end i had 2 decide what was more important winning by tanking then renting & playing li/m2m or by trying 2 do it my way even if i fail

this is no criticism of any1 else we all play the way we want 2 play & u know how competitive i can be

i do some dirty things, havent been above day trading when the market was a lot better

but i want 2 compete hard every season, i want 2 give kobe the ball in the 4th and watch him bring it home, i want 2 train my own draft picks even if they r a little crap, its just how i roll

so it has been great, brilliant, awesome, fantastic & sexy being here but if i have 2 go i go

My version is that I mostly screwed myself but you guys were the final nail in the coffin. Seing as you have asked...

This is from the Official Chelsea Seagulls History

Chelsea Seagulls Season 12 - The Season of Shame

Having risen through the ranks of division IV and III as fast as is possible, and a feat that few teams ever match Chelsea was full of confidence for season 12. Little did they know the disaster that was to befall them.

First they participated in the draft. Once again lady luck smiled on the Seagulls and gave them the best player in the draft, the amazing Hasmawi Mahmood.

Sadly the Seagulls were already firmly comitted to training small men but luckily they were able to sell him for a fortune to an Australian team, Unbeatables, that knows how to train big men having already trained two players who made the Australian national team, Tavita Pepper and Nic Queen .

Transfer 3/26/2010 12 Purchased from Chelsea Seagulls for $ 1 500 000

The luck continued in the second round where the Seagulls selected Wazza Tickle who was also sold due to his low potential to a brilliant training team, the Mangoloids.

Transfer 4/12/2010 12 Purchased from Chelsea Seagulls for $ 50 000

So far the season was looking brilliant. They had been placed in division Australia II.2 , they had a ton of money and the future was bright. But there were two huge clouds on the horizon.

Rafael Palencia
WA IS A DUMP

The Season

The Seagulls were clearly not up to the standard of the other teams in the league but they had a huge amount of money and the (very bad) decision was made to spend it all on a superstar. That one player who would put them above the other teams and be able to carry the team to victory. For those that do not remember the prices of players in those days of no free agents they were amazingly high. The team looked (not long enough) at the transfer list and found one outstanding player. A man with Wondrous (14) inside defence. Seeing as the best inside defender currently on the roster was proficient (9) that was an amazing leap. So the club paid $2,500,000 for Rafael Palencia. Sadly Rafael had somethings he was even more than wondrous at, fouling and injuring himself. Between constantly fouling out of games and having bad minutes leading to poor game shape and having a series of injuries, Rafael, the superstar who would lead the team to victory, was in proficient game shape for a total of 3 minutes for the entire season, before he injured himself yet again in a critical match.

Having their star recruit woefully underperforming was a disaster for the Seagulls but there was one final nail in the coffin. Bryce Gibbs and WA IS A DUMP. Bryce was having a holiday from the ABBL and just toying with the division II teams like a cat does with a mouse. Chelsea was locked in a life and death battle with another team having its own issues, the well coached but struggling Chumunga. One of them would survive and one would be relegated. For reasons known only to himself Bryce decided to throw both his games against Chumunga and win both his games against Chelsea. That was the factor, Chumunga had a worse PD but two more wins than Chelsea and the Seagulls were relegated.

Shame.

Obviously just one game wouldn't have changed much but throwing two games to him while going for it against me in two games was the difference. Reverse that and he is 6 wins - 400+ and I am 8 wins -100 and he is the chump and I am the brilliant manager.

I have also never been involved in a season where so many people spent enthusiasm against me, five of my six first opponents put in more effort than me.

N N N N N C T
T N C N N N T N
T N N N T T T

Until those last three games a TIE was a rare treat. It just isn't normal for everyone to play normal enthusiasm game after game against the bottom team.

But the constant injuries were no-ones fault but the BB gods and me.
