I would very rarely interview a 19 year old but if you have a late pick (I had second last last season) then you can assume you wont be getting any 5 ball 5 potential 18 year olds so you need to ask yourself would you rather draft a $3,000 6'5" 18 year old star or a $5,500 6'2" 19 year old p-all star. Both are worth almost nothing on the market it is just a matter of what you really want. Often if you have done the Group Demonstration you can see a couple of 19 year olds that look teriffic. For me potential is the key, it tells you what player you will end up with rather than what player you are starting with, less than allstar just isn't worth training as far as I am concerned and I have never done it. My three current trainees are allstar, superstar and superstar potential. Others will disagree.

I've trained starters and star potential before, nothing wrong with it.. not everyone be can be a starter on a team, I need some backups too =P

In saying that, yes allstar or higher is a must if you're going to train a really good one.

yea but if you interview a 19 years old, your gambling on the 19 years old being A+ and high potential at the same time... he could easily end up A- high 3k to 4k.

while a 3 baller 18 years old is maybe a 3k guy but since theres no sub level, you know what your getting so you only gambling on the potential being higher than the 19 years old. 1 season of full training of a 2 baller can easily have a higher salary than a 19 years old A or similar to A+.

I dont see any correlation between rating and potential thus I would pick the 18 years old everytime.

We all agree that 4rating 18years old > 5 rating 19 years old, right?

I just dont think theres any reason to waste your interview points (2points) on a 19 years old... but seeing the new system coming into play, I might not even use the points unless theres 3-4 5 rating 18 years olds or that you have a great pick since you probably wont be getting any of your top preferences even if your picking 5-6.

havent been doing the group demonstration since only got 9 18 years old in my 1+2ball catergory so... that dillemma hasnt presented itself

in the old system, you would have no trouble picking up the 5.5 19 years old guy since he is already interviewed for you luckily as well as you dont know his age. but now, no reason to waste 2 points when you can scout 2 18 years old and hope for better rating than 3

Need suggestion, not sure if this is the correct forum / post, but I am only going to keep one of the two draftee posted below, question is keep who, and sell who.

Now I am not a single position trainer, + I am more of a balanced skills trainer.
Also, I am aware that if any of the two is U20 potential, then I should better off release him to someone who can maximise his potential. One last consideration is the price I will get for them, I don't think i have seen many 7'2" Centre around....

Thanks for anyone's help.

Do you train guards or big men?

If you train big men, keep #1 and train him. If you train guards, sell him.

Same for #2 - keep him and train if you train guards, sell if you train big men.
