I believe that Phil was great handling egos, but didn't have much work to do on tactics. he always played with the same plan= no true pg, handling on the mvp guard/forward, choosing greatly players on court considering chemstry with the leaders, good defenders with no ego...

He was great with what he had (great players), easier on playstation than in real life... Not many can do that.

Poppovich, on the other hand, would be a great BB manager. Larry Brown too... unless he got too much money to waste (ask the Knicks fan like me about it). I like Sam Presti's chances too (OKC manager).

Has anyone tried using blank lineup but still putting one or two players in the position they want them in?

For example, if want to make sure player XX plays 48 minutes at PG, will it work putting him in all 3 lineup spots and then leaving the rest of the lineup up to the coach?

Reading up on really old blank lineup threads.

PG PlayerX PlayerX PlayerX
SG blank blank blank
SF blank blank blank
PF blank blank blank
C blank blank blank

will give PlayerX 48 minutes at PG? Is that will let coach decide?

what if you do

PG PlayerX PlayerY PlayerX instead?

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

The coach will substitute out as he sees fit, but player X will still be given priority, moreso than if the PG spot was left blank. Also, if you're winning by enough (20+) that it becomes "garbage time," the coach will empty the bench regardless of your priorities. If you think this might happen, set the roster 9 or less players so there aren't enough bench player to sub out your trainee.

I tried in a couple of PL games and while it seemed to work ok I had my C with very bad passing and little OD playing 38mins @ PG. And his rating and stats were rather bad.

did you set the substitution pattern as "Strictly follow" or "let coach decide"?

You definitely have to do LCD. With SFDC and a blank lineup, very often you'll see bigs playing PG.

I haven't done any testing with this, but is it possible that if you use SFDC and a blank lineup that it uses the bot lineup selection criteria with the highest salary player at PG, etc?
