The biggest problems I'm seeing here are that the ABBL teams don't want to play against each other, but they are too good against the majority of other teams. You can't really have your cake and it it too I'm afraid. If ABBL teams want to be part of the PL, it's inevitable they are going to play each other at some stage. At least they can do it without worrying about injuries, gameshape and training like in normal league games.

I believe most dont wanna play against a team in their own league. The ABBL is has fewer teams, therefor they will at least get one other team they must play against. They just need to suck it up.

However, if the PL were to end around asw, then that will give a chance for managers to put their league plans into place and not worry bout playing another team from their league at a time of the season when things get more intereting.

Also, teams in lower divisions may, or may not get smashed by teams that are higher then them. Fact is, they should use it as a learning curb, therefor making it more interesting to see where they stand compared to different teams in different leagues.

No need for a re draft, just kick out those that add the least interest in these forums. If they want to rejoin, then they will offer their services once again.

Purhaps a restructure is needed. Less teams may mean more people wanting to get in. The selection process may have to be very strick. A league filled with potential candidates may need to be formed. However, if we are about the fun factor, that may be a little too harsh. Still, it don't mean it wont be fun. It will however let you guys know who is willing to put in the time and effort.

Purhaps there could also be a relagation system, where as the winners of the qualifying group get promoted, and those that didn't try hard enough get demoted or something along those lines. that would mean an adding another league full of potential candiates. That would also help newer guys compete and help you guys decide whos right.

I don't know which ABBL teams said they don't want to play each other but I always don't mind to do so. I actually get to test tactics and learn about whether or not the tactic is viable at ABBL level rather than losing a league game to test it out.

Haha you have real secrets? Seriously? Have you discovered an age-reversing formula and don't want to share it with anyone? Maybe if everyone wasn't so secretive then more people would contribute?

Having seen some of the training results, I think we are getting close to at least halting the aging process!

That's a good point, maybe we should actually ask the ABBL teams if they mind playing each other?

Does any ABBL team not want to play other ABBL teams in the PL?

Surely we should just ask them?

The reason the ABBL teams were split into the North and East was because the ABBL teams previously stated they didnt want to be in a PL where they were basically competing against 7 other teams they were also in the league against, hence they were split 4 and 4. As Matt has pointed out, is that still the same PoV, or have they changed?

The side effect of that, is teams in div 2-3 are now not happy that they can not compete with the ABBL teams.. Solve 1 issue, create another!

To me, being in the bowl isnt about winning, it is simply about being part of the great aussie community. I couldnt care less about winning the PL, doesnt get me anything, except the odd brag rights..

Agree with what you're saying. Thats why I think it might be time to completely mix things up and try something new,

as an abbl team 4 the next week i dont mind playing against abbl teams

but the problem was that the top league would ONLY be abbl teams

4 example this season we would have had

Chelsea Seagulls
Black Label Society
Guanzheng Goldfish
Chumunga
Billy Hoyles Boys
Bell Park SuperCats
Lewisham Wombats
Whitebeard
Koopasaurus
Baxter Bogans
Monkey Business
CROCKERS

that isnt playing an occasional abbl team that is ONLY playing abbl teams & it would put some people off

next season bogans & i r gone but probably Pancakes with Jam and Cream & Slam ! will be up

but if every1 in the abbl really doesnt mind then problem solved - as well as the couple of d2 suckas that get put in that division

There doesn't necessarily have to be an ABBL division, but it might just open the door for looking at a few different league structures?
