You are right, although I believe my original point was that I had never used DMI to scout my opponents because I felt there were other factors more important. Since that discussion I have learned quite a bit more about DMI and imagine in a short while I will learn even more, thanks to the game's best theorist. One thing I have learned is that in computer programming, "random" is actually a misnomer. And while I now can glance at DMI and get a better estimate of an opposing player's GS, I am still not an advanced mathematician. As such, even though there exists the possibility for me to do some number-crunching, nomenclature still seems enough to get me by in light of the other preparation I do to scout an opponent- review tactics, review game ratings using BB-stats (which can be found here, if anyone is interested:
