I have 2 questions regarding stuff.

1. Are all staff that has the same trainer skill the same? I am confused because when I search for trainers with advanced skill, I see one with a weekly salary of 11k and another with 55k. What's the difference? Do they have different effects on training?

2. I currently see this on my staff page.
Last week's salary: $ 2 000
This week's salary: $ 2 020

Why does it change weekly?

I am thinking I still have till Friday to get a decent trainer so I didn't rush to get one right away.

Hey there! Your questions are actually quite related.

Every staff member increases his respective salary each week by a fixed percentage based on staff level, starting from 1% for minimal and increasing +0.25% for each next level (world renowned is +2.5% per week). That's basically what makes the same levels of staff have very different salaries. The ones that are fired go back to the market looking for a new job. The staff effects are absolutely the same for each member of the respective tier. There's no difference.

It will cost you a lot more to sign a cheap salary staff member though, as many other managers are also looking for bargains. Especially at the higher levels. You will have to find an optimal trade-off between salary and signing fee for yourself.

A piece of advice - do not rush to get staff asap. Take some time to figure out how training works, what makes a trainee good/profitable etc, what the optimal costs are for each type and level of staff and only then go and hit the staff market. You will probably be kicking yourself later if rush this now.

Best of luck!

Thank you. Training in this game is VERY different than most games I've played and there is almost no official information. That's quite unfortunate because I have been searching around and seems like most people quit the game because they couldn't figure out how training works.

They are not wrong. In my days, I trained with professional basketball players (they are huge) and there is no way a trainer would say "I'll only train guards this week, forwards and Centers can rest". That practice of the came is extremely counter-intuitive.

I am not convinced with your "It will cost you a lot more to sign a cheap salary staff member" statement, however. I saw a 15k salary trainer go for 60k while 40k salary for 1k with the same level of skill. 60k may seem much higher than 1k but it will make up in only 3 weeks; 105k < 121k

Follow-up question: What does the "Secondary Staff" do?

True. Player development as a whole is far from realism (even the best draftees are actually terrible players and need a lot of dedication to reach the top level) but for me at least (and many others on the forums) it is actually the best part of the game, once you wrap your head around it, that is.

Yeah... I may be wrong but I'm guessing that was a level 4 trainer. Up to lvl 3-4 the difference is negligible and it is easy to grab a low salary coach. If you go for a trainer lvl 5 or higher the difference is quite evident. A ~20k salary lvl 6 coach usually goes for ~1.5 million.

Follow-up question: What does the "Secondary Staff" do?
Youth trainer - increases speed of training for players aged 18 & 19. Speculations are that it is a percentage equal to the respective staff level.

Sports Psychologist - improves game shape

Nutritionist - decreases stamina drops

just speculating here but i think you don't lose the merchandising advantages but only the picture of it. in any case, it should be fixed.

Is there a guide about training explaining or estimating the benefit? For example when I train "ONE ON ONE" I see these secondary options:

Guards
Wingmen (90%)
Forwards
C/PF (90%)
Team

1. Assuming 90% inside the parenthesis indicate the efficiency, why would I want to select these, Guards or Forwards while there is a Team option with seemingly no efficiency downside?

2. What will they train? I've read from some guides and forum answers that they will train Passing, Driving and Shooting (JS or IS depending on position) but why do I need to look for that information online? Shouldn't that be in the official guides?

Bonus question: Is there a setting to make the fonts in this game bigger? It overrides browser options.

ALSO: I couldn't up-vote some answers because "You cannot rate posts by the same person more than once every 12 hours."
