this is my second term man. i started when whitewind did.. i was coach for u21 england before that. andyes i hope im ok to deal with. people keep telling me the community was tough, but the ones i talk to in pilpinas are nice too.. every community has cranky members. peace

And the sad thing is that one rotten apple is noticed first over all the others that are good.

Ask me for other excellent analogies that don't quite make sense.

Pre game Entertainment...

Starting 5 for the Aussie U21s (lights dim down and Enter Sandman starts...)

Number 1, Popping Pete McArthuuuuuuur (clapping and cheers)

Number 30, CIA. Cai, Xinguiiiiiiiiiii! (roars)

At small forward, captain of the u21s, Maverick Paaaaarkes (females start going Michale Jackson crazy, crying etc).

In Power Forward, young excitement machine, Cadeo Phaaaaaaaaaan (Runs out high fiving the other 3 starters as the energy in the stadium picks up)

And at Center, Cortezzzzzzzzzz Ryyyyannnnnnn (Lights turn on, crowd start thumping their feet on the grandstand in rhythm, team huddles and listens to instructions from the captain. First play they are looking to find CIA open, defense they are watching out for Youngcheng, their floor leading PG who has led their scoring the last 2 matches, and Weiting, who has been top 2 scorers the last 3 matches. Both Maverick and Popping Pete are aware of the ball denial defense expected.).

Slight delay in game as the Macau team went to eRicUNiTed Arena instead of EricUnited Arena. They are arriving as we speak...

Aussies annihilate Macau, bump up %
(32515)

In an important game for team Australia, the team has secured a 77 point victory to put themselves in a great position for the next stage of the Continental Championships. There were a handful of stats that look key in the win. The field goal percentage of Australia (53%) was over 30% higher than that of their opponents. 17 of the 19 fouls committed by Macau were shooting fouls, giving Australia twice as many free throws. The rebound count was 78-40, with the Aussies pulling in 20 O boards. The assist count was 32-9, showing how dangerous floor leader Popping Pete MacArthur is, given the opportunity to run the show. Lastly, Australia's defense was impeccable, with 9-0 blocks, and 6-0 steals.

MVP votes
Could really give these to any of 8 players. Some of our benchies had fantastic numbers in junk time, with 20 rebounds, mostly in the last quarter by Leunig, 8 assists by Zidarevic (in junk time), you could make a case for a lot of players to be in the votes... but the votes given represent the influence they had on the game too, not just the numbers.

3 votes- Pete MacArthur- 20 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3pt, 2-2 FT), 6 boards, 4 assists, 1 stl.
2 votes- Maverick- 19pts (8-13 FG, 1-5 3pt, 2-4 FT) 2 boards, 2 assists, and kept his opponent to 5-20 FG.
1 vote- Phan- 12 points (4-10 FG, 4-7 FT), 19 boards, 3 assists, 1 block, and kept his opponent to 4-16 FG.

Our final game of the regular season is vs Taiwan.

Trainer of the week goes to the West Coast Eagles, who managed 5 pops between Hamburger and Mav, with Maverick triple popping in JS, JR and handling. Also getting both into proficient, nice timing WCE!

45mins time we hopefully commence a game against Taiwan. We are playing for a semi final spot, which will determine whether we play in the world cup next season or not. Should be a good game, and test our players.

AU21 clean sweep 2nd round (32518)
team standings at: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/world/standings.aspx?teamid=1...

Australia has overpowered a crunch time from Taiwan to send them off to the Repacharge with low enthusiasm after tactics were again leaked to Australian team management minutes prior to the match starting. In controversial circumstances that cross the line the honest Aussies, Several of the Australian team were alleged to have dressed in Taiwan u21 team uniform and sit in the Taiwan changerooms during crucial team meetings. Pete "the popper" MacArthur (32953825) dressed as lookalike Xie Chang (34175568), and Art Zidarevic (32955775) went under the radar looking ridiculously like opposition floor general Lin Kin Kwok (33296218). Both players have been investigated and await an official statement for FIBA.

The opposition coach was fuming about the alleged incident. " I knew something was up when i saw Kwok smiling. That guy never smiles. They have bought our game into disrepute".

It was not the only controversial topic of the night, with ASADA also seizing Cadeo "massive" Phan before he could step foot off the floor, jabbing him for all kinds of steroids and performance enhancing tests.

"20 year olds don't just go out and beat up whole teams bigger than them. Everyone can remember guys at school bigger than them in the year below, but this guy did it with 3 guys , all with an extra season of bulk on them, on his back".

Phan looked as composed post match as he did in the 33 mins he spent in the paint, going 9-13 from the post and riding the team to an important victory.

The Aussies picked the tactics like a dirty nose, tearing the opening minutes of the game with a 10-0 run. Ironically, it was also the final score differential. Taiwan seemed to target Cortez Ryan in the first half, drawing 5 early fouls before he adjusted to the calls of the refs and avoiding any further infractions.

The semi final against Singapore looms as a showdown if tonight's matches are anything to go by. With Singapores HCA in the finals, they pose a serious threat to the rest of the competition.

MVPS
3 votes- Cadeo Phan scoring 18points (9-13 FG), 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and a 16.5 rating.
2 votes- Cortez Ryan scoring 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 FT), 10 boards, 3 assists, 1 block, and a 16.5 rating.
1 vote- Maverick Parkes scoring 14.5 points (4-11 FG, 3-6 FT), 8 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal and a 14.5 rating.
