Forcing 48 mns on a player is an abuse, it wasn't meant to work that way.
Abuse or not, as it can be forced to be executed, there is no reason why it cannot be executed without those not related definition of only 9 players.
A user who prefers to better train is player on a cost of a chance of losing a game should have that option.

In addition, I do not find it an abuse.
Here training are upon minutes on court, but on real BB most of it is not on court.
Due to that, it cannot be defined as "abusing the player". This is his practice time...
But that is not really an important argument or my main one...

There are lots of suggestions revolving around this.

I encourage you to read more of the old threads. This one is a wealth of information.
Many issues you bring up have been discussed in the past. I doesn't mean you shouldn't bring them up but by knowing all sides of an argument beforehand, the discussion can advance. Fresh views are welcome.

To search the site, use
site:www.buzzerbeater.com
after your key words in a search engine. It will narrow down the search to the BB domain, a better tool than the game search function :)
I (and others) may do that, but I guess I ususally won't.
To much fuss for finding whether it was brought up, and what had been the argument for and against.
In the worst case, the same argument will be repeated.

The only thing that may help here is an index of suggestions and a summary for any argument for and against (in few words).
That may be more user-freindly, and may be viewed before submitting a suggestion.

I know that it frustrates the old users to read the same suggestions (not nessecarily with the same arguments), but I guess that it will keep happening (by me or any new user). At least until a solution will be find for verifying whether a suggestion and its arguments had been already brought.

Hi,

Referring to this game:
http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/42967745/boxscore.aspx

I set F. Gaudin as my primary backup and reserve at C and PF, but i don't understand why he only played 1 minute the entire game, he didn't get injured.. I double checked my lineup by loading former match tactics and i confirmed that i put him as my primary backup and reserve at C and PF while citing "Strictly follow depth chart".

Please help, any idea what happened? Is it a bug? My minutes got screwed up due to this, i've done this for a few seasons and this has never happened to me..

Thanks!

It's weird, I agree. It shouldn't have happened like it did, but there is something that I think may have influenced the game engine to do so. Both players he was supposed to replace have a very high stamina. And I stress, this is not the way it's supposed to work in my view, but the high stamina may have meant that they were not tired and were not substituted because of that. Also, on occasion, it was a tight game. In such cases the coach often decides to keep the starters in. Those two reasons combined shouldn't have such a big impact yet somehow it happened. We will look at this issue again when we start fixing the GE.

While i understand what you mean, this has never happened to me for the years i've been on buzzerbeater, using the same method from the start. I set someone as backup and reserve, in a close game they typically get 10-15 minutes only but when its a blow out they get 20-24 minutes.

This time i only got 1 minute out of my backup/reserve. Worse, its happening again in my game right now.. Im leading by 30 and the only player i have on the whole rotation is still sitting in the bench despite being set as reserve and backup at SG.

Is this happening to anybody else? Anybody know who i should talk to regarding this? This might just destroy my game shape and stamina before it gets fixed..

This user (87525) is sure about the fact that he sent orders for this scrimmage. (44555349) (Standard Line-up used instead)
Would you mind checking it ?

Our records show that he didn't set any lineup for that game, hence his default lineup played.

@24Mamba: Looks like another possible issue with the GE, we will have to look into it when we start fixing GE issues. Luckily, your yesterday's game didn't have the same issue.

Strictly + SB&R + 8 players and still not getting 48 minutes...
On the following game http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/42957412/boxscore.aspx, I've set two players to play Starter, Backup and Reserve (aka SB&R) at a single position (each at his own).
I've set the coach's strategy to be "Strictly follow depth chart", and used only 8 players for that game (meaning, signing only those 8 for the game).

Even now, only one of those two players got the 48 minutes expected to play at this scenario.
In addition to that the other player didn't get the 48 minutes, another player who had been set as a starter of another position, but did not been set to anything else, got also to play 48 minutes...[And here I even strongly preferred he'd play less].

Due to that, the other guy expected to play 48 minutes, played only 35, and combined he has less than 48 minutes this week at the positions I'm training...
In addition, the player that substitute him player combined 97 minutes (had 84 before that)...

Who was Mashiach set as the backup to, and who was the backup for van der Velden? When garbage time hits, the coach looks to put in every bench player he can and sit every starter, so if you don't strictly limit his choices perfectly, stuff like this will happen. I'm not sure why you'd put a player with 84 minutes already in your lineup at all, but that's not really important to figuring out why this happened.

Mashiach had not been set to any positions (SB or R). He only had been signed to the game.

Van der velden had been only the starter at that positions. Matas had been the Backup, and Blavia the Reserved.

To summarize all this strategic feature, it just don't work as supposed and expected to be.
Should I wait next time also for a full moon? :+)
