I was fully expecting to lose to Cunning Linguists tonight, but even so, losing by 16 to the crappy Push The Ball offence is a worrying sign. Maybe PTB only works properly when your team is stronger than your opponents...

im finding this season quite interesting
Vios are obviously going to finish 1st baring any major dilema's, but after that, its fair game. anyone in the top 4 (except Vios) of the big 8 could finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th, and could take out Vios with a well timed POCT.

and that team would potentially go into the GF with HCA against someone from the Great 8 who are battling amoungst themselves for HCA.

someone in 4th on the Big 8 could have HCA against 1st on the Great 8.

....and then we have the trifecta of bots on the Great 8 side, which means relegation is a straight forward proposition for Big 8 teams. BUt it also means drafting becomes VERY attractive as an option.

and then we have the 1 in 4 chance of not getting an ABBL relegate for next season.

On that note how does buzzerbeater decide who to relegate? Is it bottom two of both conferences?

good question actually.

im assuming it will be
- 8th placed get auto-relegated
- 6th and 7th placed bot teams still play in relegation series against opposing 6th and 7th placed teams.

And i don't think it will be the case here, but if it was bot vs bot in a relegation series, the bot carries over into the next season's league. So next season would automatically have a bot in it.
But there is only Slam ! as the bot on this side of the league.

So looks like for you, you will be playing a bot team :) be careful though, he will have HCA LOL

I was under the belief that bots automatically drop down to the lowest level of the league pyramid during the season reset regardless of league position. 6th and 7th in the Big 8 will still have to win their relegation series to stay up themselves, but I think that the game's script attempts to ensure that there are no bot teams in the first three divisions of Australia at the start of each season.

yer i was kinda thinking this as well, but now im not entirely sure.

Take for example
If two bots finished at 6th and active managers finished at 7th and 8th respectively on both conferences, and the bot teams won their relegation series, but then got auto-cleaned up, that would result in 6 teams (plus one winner, meaning 7 teams) being demoted (and promoted) out of the one league.
Which just doesn't seem right to me. 7 teams out of 16 changing over? I dunno about that.

We would need to find an example of where a bot team won their relegation. Perhaps in Div III there is an example where it was Bot vs Bot. but then again, if there was no human players to come through, auto-relegation may not happen?

im sure ive seen it once where a bot staying on until the following season. ill see if i can find it.

I did forget to set my line up and my default lined up. Luckily my two injured players appear to have finally come back after a couple of weeks out. Their GS is shattered but at least they'll get some decent minutes, hopefully with enough time left to get in shape for playoffs.

You have J. Chan set at C, for starter, reserve and backup, in your default lineup?

And I was set to TIE! Well there you go, looks like I did set it (a few days back) and left my injured players in starting line up in the hope they made it back.

Honestly wasn't fussed about winning or losing this one, all about GS now.

Nice win though, that will certainly help you gain HCA in the first round of playoffs!
