i got a feeling that Sebhilton is gonna have to do his best not to have the 5 MVP's comming from the same team this time around He might find a better candidate for the PG, but i think that SG, SF, PF and C are all locked up (and 13 assists at the pointguard position isn't easely ignored. especially not when it comes with a DD)

Almost... ;)

And with my only one player selected for the All Star game, I'm a bit sad. I 'm sure Branas is better than the other(s) at least from the sub choosen from Beerschot (no offense, just a matter of global average rating).
Perhaps because he didn't play last saturday he's not selected...even as a sub, I don't know. But vote gap is quite high.
Lemos is starting to become clearly old, 3pts contest not for him this time (and no game either but vote gap was tighter).

i'm shocked that De Cloedt with his massive DD ( 15 assists 16 rebounds) didn't make your MVP list of the evening.

Futhermore, i'm suprized about the allstar voting too. I got starters at SG and SF, which i was expecting. I just wasn't expecting my elected starter at the SF to be De Cloedt. Ottevaere is a former NT SF and played their the whole season, yet de Cloedt get a nod over him based upon what? 6 games he played at the SF?

I also am surprized that Branas was left out. if ever there was a sure player other than Marichal in the Allstar game, it was Branas and not your PG.

i don't understand some other decisions either. Other than the SF, where our 2 best SF's (Lemos and Ottevaere) didn't make the cut, i'm equally surprized with the PF spot. Hackett got the starting nod over Tiber? major difference in their ratings...

our inside is overmatched, but we got the clearcut advantage outside :D it's gonna be Ochoa and Marichal vs Dewaele and Coeck for the scoring part :D

And if you consider the results, it would have been logical had all All star players come from Falco, Tool and Angels. Our records are far better than the rest of the competition, and i was under the assumption that records counted for something... guess i was wrong there aswell.

Ow well, i got an outside chance to bring home the 3pt shooting trophy and i've got 3 starting allstars. guess i don't have many reasons to complain, tho i'm surprized about the voting aswell...

I totally agree with you Revo.
I was (happily) surprised to see my PG elected and (sadly) surprised when I saw Branas out of the team as well. This guy is the MVP of last season, and didn't dropped in any field since that (ok, he is a little bit under what he can do currently).

Regarding Hackett, he seems to be a very interesting player, very strong with regularity in performances. I would be curious to see his skills.

And agree as well on Ottevaere/\ De Cloedt match. Weird.
For Lemos at SF, as he never plays that position, it could be understandable.

Call me a sore loser if you want to (figuratively speaking ofcourse!) but Marichal, who is we consider purely salary and purely the likelyhood of salary allocated to JS and JR primairly ( HA and DR only come into account when you were driving the ball or wanting a better shot quality), Then Marichal should have dominated the 3pt shooting contest. Now i'll take into account that his GS was 9.

so our 6 candidates:

Qualification Round
Player Points GS Salary player position
L. Ghinzani 22 6 35 631 SG
V. Pupkevicius 22 9 53 116 SF
W. Marichal 15 9 120 214 SG
M. Lapčić 19 7 61 543 SG
G. Siciovas 22 8 71 639 SF
K. Šubic 17 7 45 363 SG

Well, you get the numbers. If you compare all that: Marichals GS is the highest possible. His salary is twice that of all his competitors, ( which the exception of Siciovas). He plays at the SG position. and has a high JS/JR rate, or he wouldn't be Nt material. And he comes in last in a 3pt shooting contest? He dwarfs others in terms of salaries and would beat them anytime in a game, yet he comes in last? i can't help but feel extremely dissapointed...

a couple of seasons ago, Blairon from my team won a 3pt shooting contest. He was the only competitor in GS 9 that time, so i reckoned that was. i rarely have ever had 3 point shooting contestants, yet i can't help but be VERY dissapointed in the outcome of this one...

And the best part of it all?

Congratulations to the Three Point Shot Competition winner, Lucky Fan from Unknown! Click here to view the results.

gotta love bugs. Maybe, the 3pt shooting contest was bugged all allong :P ah heck. i'm just voicing my complains. But atleast we got something to debate about again :D

It just means that money doesn't make everything ;)

or Marichal was focused on the game (and performed well), and not enough on the contest.
or his wife was kidnapped by Somalian terrorists who asked him to loose the contest in order to see his wife alive again.

Everything is possible!

Ow well, if there was anything like a MVP for the ASg game, i reckon it would be a consolationprize for missing out on the 3pt shooting contest. Guy with the worst GS won it in the end. Talk about a serious dissapointment. A guy who isn't in optimal shape beats all others who are in better shape.

Big 8 beat Great 8 pretty well, tho the stand-out preformance was Coeck in Q1 who made 22 points in 1Q (and then for inexplanable reasons, Great 8 team decided to start shooting 3pters...)

it was a good distraction, tho i can't wait for the next league game. Beerschot Bears sold another player and i'm pretty sure they are winning cash. i take it he did it to make some more money to get 2 players for the PO's. i just hope his plan doesn't backfire on him, with C4C close to taking that final 4th spot...

Either way, BB of C4C, it's not gonna be a present for the team ending first in our conference. They are bound to add atleast 1, probably 2 players to there squads, which could eliminate there current weaknesses...

It's either that or BB has decided to unload and pass on the PO's this season. Outsider would be Boubous Warriors. She's made the best of the interconference games and is catching up on C4C and BB.

Nice Tournament game yesterday against Wabeke. Even if I was almost always 20pts behind.
I had a (very) small hope during the 4th QT where I was only 9pts away but too late...
Tactical choices were quite similar, each one wanted to anticipate his opponent move and finally we had almost exactly the same choices.
But the crowd at Wabeke arena was on fire and behind their team
Good luck for next round!

i'm surprized to see Wabeke still in the cup. but it means they aren't focused on the league, so that doesn't matter to much for me.

i'm equally surprized that Falco is still in the cup. He sold off a C recently and hasn't got much depth anymore. With the games getting more important in the league, i wonder if he'll drop the cup or keep going... the biggest advantage about being in the cup: you don't need to look for a scrimmage!
