we are planning on revisiting the end game logic again.. I think the last version was better than the previous one.. and i think we still have some work to do. We didn't want to change it right for the playoffs, but we will sometime at the start of next season.

In my today's final (4173007) I score a 2 points shot at 1 second from match ending: with 2 points on my opponent and only 1 second left I think that it's done, but when the game starts, after the time-out, my opponent is trying a 2 point shot in the little area... nice thing that he receive a foul and fails the second free throw!!!

Ok, I've won and I'm happy, but I thing that a a situation like this have to be changed.

Anyway I like a lot this game, good work everybody :)

What's the problem?

Under NBA rules, the ball is moved to halfcourt for the inbounds after a timeout late in the game (I think... there are some weird rules). A 2-point shot is possible anywhere on the court in that situation... not probable, but not super rare either, IMO.

Ok, just reporting ;)

I was just thinking that was very difficult to pass a ball and try a 2 point shot in just 1 second even passing from half court and specially if the throw is under the basket, but if the match engine put a 2 point shot in a random position and the throw position is just a visual situation it's a different thing. :)

I was about to say that it is possible for one to do a buzzerbeater with less than 1 second by using that as an argument ;)

shooting a basketball is essentially a combination of muscle memory and hand-eye coordination. Thinking often spoils the deal. Often times in close games with time running out, athletes have little time to think and their bodies take over, which is why you often see really good players drain ridiculous shots at the end of late games. So I think it is reasonbale that in BB guys shoot better towards the end of the game.

The 2 seconds to minbound, advance, and shoot is much less realistic. Sure, that can happen sometimes. But just as often, if not more often, that can take 3 or 4 or 5 seconds, or can end up in a foul or turnover. I think that the GE should have some sort of seconds-per-event parameters for the end of the game. maybe 3 seconds being the normal with 4 and 2 next and 1 and 5 very rare. A bell curve of probability.

Here are some clips that show how reality can be more fantastic than fantasy:

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
