A good manager is currently able to win 3 real games/week with 7-8 good players + 2 correct ones (salary around 10k), because he knows that his opponents have to make decisions too. It's the difference between the managers who win trophies and the other ones. Everybody here supposed they will have to play 3 times against the best possible opponent but since everybody will be in the same situation that won't be the case.

you can do it because you're in the top league of your country so on thursday you're likely to play an easy opponent
lower leagues players mostly play in the cup until they lose, knowing this will happen anyway sooner or later

and IMO nobody should be able to consistently win 3 league games/week against competent opponents, the current economy+game shape system doesn't allow it (excluding former tankers who are speding their bank to play on a massive deficit, which i hope we agree shouldn't be encouraged)

What I love in this game is to have to deal, at the same time, with training and games to win. Can I win 3 games this week, yes or no? If yes against which team I can take risk, against who I'm sure to face his best team, who will give up... ? If I can't win all the games, which game I give up? Which team could give up too? Currently that kind of situation happens 2, maybe 3 times by season and only in top leagues. It's the best part of this game and during a 14 weeks season, it's not enough.

this seems a lot like a lottery: your success depends on how many people choose to play seriously against you
that's also what many players cited as the main reason for not having fun playing in Italy's Serie A years ago

What works in small countries not always work in big ones.

Any manager that got to div.1 Italy or Spain a couple times is a better manager than any of you two.

No idea why you keep explaining yourself here as both of them do not show any understending of the game and how to do well in it

correct. i'm not interested in doing well (if by that you mean getting into BBB), but i'm interested in having fun

Here's my opinion on the idea of having 3 league games per week but keeping game shape the same. IT SUCKS.

Game shape works right now because managers have the freedom to start their best five players in every league game, but also have to choose between doing that and going after the cup once the bot bashing phase is over. But despite 3 league games potentially adding strategic depth in roster building, I just don't see it as being a fun experience for most players. It would turn star players into more of a burden than a benefit, because you're stuck with their salary and can't even use them much more than your end of bench players. And what's the point of discouraging training up your own stars even further than the HatTrick inspired training system already does?

Much better to ditch game shape for a fatigue system if we do go down the route of having 3 league games. That way you can still play your better players more than your weaker ones, and there would be some level of load management without it being ridiculous.

Changing the GS system is just changing a formulae. MUCH more easy than changing the schedule.

But again, it is a problem of lack of competence in small leagues. Nobody complaining in a big league. You should ask for a merge instead. Then you would have more significant games.

Are you serious? Do you really believe in what you are saying?

"biggest TV contracts"??? Come on, the first thing a bad manager does in a small country is to sign high salary scrubs. Salary is what TV contracts take into account. Look at my team. I am crushing teams with double salaries than my team and much higher ratings also. There is where you see a competitive manager. But of course I am in div.3. I won't be able to that in Spanish div.2 or div.1... not even promote this season...

Even in div.3, every game I played has been disputed. Every league opponent has tried hard to win, I have had to make the lineups with great care. And cup games are for minutes management, so also important in its own way. That is the usual game in the Spanish league. Do you thing That Belgian league is competitive? Don't be delusional.
