wow, Brazil is virtualy out... The fact that Uruguay played CT can't be bad for us either. I will analyze more later, now I'm still on the car on the way home.

If the tiebreaker is head-to-head (pretty sure that's the case), then Brazil can't finish higher than third in this group now. That would get them into the second-chance qualifiers. They'll need to beat the hosts Perú next week to do that.

It's strictly point differential.

I don't know what to say...
Very risky strategy from Uruguay. Two CT in a row... I wasn't expecting this, not sure it was best strategy for them, but it worked for this game, I guess. To be honest, I think they will only make the second chance qualifiers now.

Well, one game to go.

Interesting is that in the Uruguayan forums the coach was saying they will surely lose to Canada, which made me assume they will try to regain their enthusiasm to get better chances for later.

We also had our best Power Forward injured for the game, but I think we could have won the game even without him.

We will just have to deal with the next game.

Also, another chance is that if Peru wins next game, we finish just third, even with 4 wins vs 1 loss.

Very clever of them to figure that a 3-2 defense would be effective against us. It's like our tactics were 100% predictable.

Since the day your NT beat Brazil, our plans changed abruptly. We thought "playing PIC with Brazil (they´ll end 1st for sure) and then going for the surprise with Canada playing MOTS in order to make a run for 2nd place".

But, your victory changed everything...considering that result, losing to Brazil and beating Canada wasn´t that great. A triple draw (and we still had to beat Peru). We didn´t get enough points vs. Ecuador and Colombia, so we were the candidates to end 3rd if that scenario happened.

Instead, we made a lil´ swap on the plan, playing CT with Brazil to deal a good KO punch. That CT hurt because we were high -somewhat- in entusiasm, but the result at least was pretty good.

Today we thought, "Ok, Brazil beats Peru and if we manage to beat Canada we assure ourself a place in semifinals". We can TIE then with Peru. Losing with Canada would oblige us to beat Perú (thanks to Basketaverage) in order to reach semis and that means playing Normal or CT. We consider Canada one level above us so we had to use this "weapon" to win.

There wasn´t a single scenario where we could raise too much spirit, even if we played TIE or Normal with Canada. Since that´s the case, playing CT today won´t hurt too much and could assure us a place in semis. Enthusiasm will flow naturaly back to 5 again in this case.

It´s a pitty that Brazil lost but, none of the 3 teams that can qualify (Canada-Uruguay and Peru) will have a nice enthusiasm by semis.

The thing I´m really impressed about is that you read our forum. We used some "disinformation" messages, but we never thought you could take them seriously. We thought that you had high chances of playing TIE, but just in case elvioleta played the fool...

Now, last round is going to be a blast!

Good Luck!

It is tough to win a TIE vs CT, especially on the road.

So if we finish 3rd, we are in the 2nd chance qualifiers? If so, in that scenario at least you'll take a high enthusiasm into the games.
