Driving is probably the most important skill a good SF needs to have. Tobias Keinbrink has 20 driving to go along with his decent outside and inside game, and he is generally considered the best SF in the world. Driving bridges the gap between the outside and inside game and the higher it is, the easier it will be for the player to beat you from anywere on the court rather than one spot more than the other(like inside more than outside and vicer versa)

Based on what?? and here i am looking for real arguments...

Driving is so overrated and passing so underrated and its not even funny...

Why some need to create his shot when he can pass to a teammate who is on a better position to score? the same goes to the opposite...

but kienbink also had greater other skills then other PF, the drving there was more important because it trains his JS and IS within - and after it it work through the elastic effect but i didn't expect him to be much worse when he loose ten skills there over night.

HeadPaperPusher tells me you have a study that backs this up. I'd like to see that if you don't mind.

I'm actually of the opinion that both are underrated, and there is nothing in this game more underrated than balance, but what the hell do I know.

...the opposite being "why pass to a teammate when he can create his own shot?" ;)

HeadPaperPusher is a good friend of mine, and we came close due are discussions about the game...

About my research. I decided to start that when i was playing 90% LI, (if i am not mistaken during the 10th season) so i tried to compare the production of my big men, with several deferences on the DR lvl. I have included data from several teams, with the same tactics. I tried to see if DR gives extra per minute production, and shooting percentages. That time i was a relative new team, only 4 seasons on the game, and my big men that i was training that time where about at the same lvl on there primary skills. What i discovered, is that JS, helped a lot, XP on a smaller degree, PA was a factor, but marginal. Actually the player with the higher % was a player with 1 PA.I really didnt found any player with high DR, to get more shots per min, or to have better %.

I dont have those data stored somewhere and thats my mistake, but again i never expected to stay that long on the game...

I love NBA and i watching it closely for around 20 years, but the right way to ball is the Euro way...teamwork. NBA its all about individual stats. Euro ball its not. I cant really give you any real evidence other than my team. Improving my OF i have improved my offense without any real cost salary wise, and my observations after 10 seasons on the game, shows that slower tactics if you build them with the proper way, have the edge from the faster ones...

This is basically the discussion I had with HPP; high-passing slow tactics trumps high-driving fast tactics. (Really wish I could see your data!) The question remains that if the skills were combined (high-driving AND high-passing), would the tactics matter as much anymore? Could a BO be plenty effective with the right skill-sets?

Nice question, about the guards. I cant say anything with surety, my guards/SF are not my products, ive bought them semi ready and i am polishing there skills. All of them have relative high DR, but i dont have stable scoring machine between of them. We cant have the perfect player, we have to make compromises. I am not saying that DR is completely useless, but as far as about me is very low on my priorities. Thats the route that i chose after experiment so many seasons with almost every tactic that the game can offer...If i am right or wrong...Time will show...so far so good...Just like my press release...
