to a lot of players he would be just rubbish but with my drafting history i decided to keep him because of his height and very low fouling, i did a lot of 2 position training this season (1on1 & JS) and he always go trained so has had 7 pops this season his tpe was $1-10 but after a season of training...

There have been 8 recent transfers of 18 year old small forwards with strong jump shot and perennial allstar potential. Of these, the ones with skills most similar to Ryan Brown have been selling for around $ 2 000 to $ 70 000.

so that is it after $1.3 million loss on the draft the second best player i have ever gotten is worth $2-70,000

season 17 draft (back to normal level of pathetic)

lots of really good points here & i agree in general

the frustration i feel is that for $1 i can buy a player off the tl that i can train 2 be an abbl starter much better than anyone i can draft

agree but the point of the draft is 2 be able 2 draft someone that one day can start for your team

How come is that the point of the draft? In this game, the point is make more money, than you put in or get good skills/potential for training.

totally agree u can get a guy for $1k far better than anyone u can draft urself

But someone actually has to draft them. You can't expect to draft a great trainee, while drafting late. I looked at your drafts, you either are lucky to get something that late or leaguemates are not investing in draft. Like it was said before, raising draftees level will just flood the market with better draftees and you still go out and get a better one than you draft (if you draft late or are unlucky) for practically nothing.
If you want to train your players, stop looking at the TL. You are looking for a perfect match. "This is not good enough", "that is not good enough", stop being nitpicky. You can't expect to get something valuable every season. You have been drafting decent players a few seasons now.

I think we have been over this before. I can throw in my own records. 2,17mil invested total (this season projected investment included), 3,38mil in sales, profit 1,21mil. I even decided to keep 2 draftees from S17 draft and 1 from S18 draft. Last season drafts have not been great, but I don't expect to be dazzled while drafting late. People are starting to invest again, for whatever reason...

3) adjust the sliders on the 2/3 zone - how many people complain about how boring the never ending LI/M2M battles are? if u just made the 2/3 zone better it would solve the problem still leaving LI the same against M2M, 3/2 etc but puting in a vaible counter

in my opinion, the problem with the game engine is much bigger than the effectiveness of 2-3 Zone..
strengthening some tactics will just create new imbalances..
the real problem of the engine is the logical definitions of the shot types and how they are defended..
there should be a major fix like the one done in Season-9..

your other points may be good, but they can not save the game without a better game engine..
what's the joy at training or buying a player with similar skillsets everytime..?
i should be able to sacrifice OD at guard, for example..

OD is the one skill to rule them all. Need to stop outside shooting? OD does the job. Steals? That's OD. Pressuring guys so they can't get the ball inside? OD. There absolutely should have been separate skills for some of these role, but the difficulty now is trying to shoehorn those in now that the game is 20 seasons in.

if we were playing rock scissors paper but rock beat both scissors & paper there would be an obvious problem

we could fix if by making paper beat rock

right now for every tactic there is a counter except for look inside which has no counter

playing a 2-3 zone with normal players should be the winning move if you 100% know your opponent will play LI

instead the tactical part of this game is dead dead dead with the majority of big teams playing li/m2m every single game

but yeah u r both right

no matter what strat u play the 1 skill u must have is OD on guards the only thing that comes close is u must have some RE on your 3 base players

the only time strengthened ID counts when playing 2-3 Zone is when your OD is good enough to prevent the opponent from driving inside or sending the ball inside for an open dunk..

i said 100 times, my od isn't very good, for the competion i faced and it is still working.
