Lol thats pretty good value for money considering I blew $4 mil of my abbl money on one player. But I also haven't had a full tank in the abbl yet. Just a matter of time before I do so if I want to remain viable in the top league.

Thats a pretty good way of making money actually, just yoyo between div 1 & div 2 and save a whole lot of cash lol

It should also give you some great draft picks although the ABBL draft has been notoriously bad in recent seasons.

I just had an odd brain wave.

Do you think that quality of draft might be proportional to the amount of money spent by active team's in that league?

No it is purely random from what I know.

From my experience its been purely crap (the draft)

Mighty effort by Geelong Vipers tonight which puts Team Akuma in a spot

Team Akuma (the Fab 4) are still active in the cup and on Thursday will play the 17th best team in Australia meaning that they will need their best players to play 30 to 40 mins in that game if the rumours are true about them bleeding cash.

Duffill has already played 39mins
Maclean has played 38 mins
Abimbola has played 37 mins
Mezzalira has played 33 mins
Smeltz has played 32 mins

Will they be able to lineup any of their Fab 4 and other starter against Fashion Victims??????????????????

Also Id much appreciate if you all could keep an eye out on the transfer market for me as I need to find a beast I can rent for a week and a half who might be able to reduce Duffills influence in my game against them.

Might also need this "rent a beast" for the game against Northcote Slammers.

They are out of the cup so minutes are no problem and they have a well balanced developing team who will be running around on their home court

I believe the draft favors the lower leagues in terms of the strength of the draft. Therefore you would need to be extremely lucky to get a great draftee in the ABBL.

Its completely random.

Its just that there is 64 drafts in div4 compared to 1 draft in the abbl.

You got 64 chances more chances of getting a rookie draft pool.

Would you say there are 64 crazy good rookies from div4? Probably not.

yes to echo Koops - i believe i read this statement a few seasons ago and it got debunked.

people thought that because 10 HoF-mers came out of Div IV, but only 1 came out of ABBL, that meant that the lower leagues get better draft picks.

From a total number perspective, yes the lower divisions appear to get 'better' picks simply because there are more leagues!

But in a single league, it was shown that the odds of getting better draft picks was even across all divisions.

Hence my wild suggestion that maybe there is a factor of 'amount of cash spent by active teams in that league may influence draft quality.

it would be worthwhile statistically investigating that IMO.
