(38155281) with 8 points while Chan Zheng Xin provided 6 for Taiwan as the quarter ends with a lead for the Philippines 25-21. The battle of attrition seemed to continue for the second quarter, but Carreon and Siegfred Estillore
(38155755) carried the team to a 39-28 lead forcing a full timeout called by Taiwan with 8:04 left in the second. This however, did not stop the bleeding as the quarter ends 59-39 Pilipinas with Carreon and Estillore scoring a total of 14 points. During the third quarter, Taiwan clamped down defensively holding Pilipinas to 12 points in 8 minutes. On the other hand, they also were unable to produce in the offense to cut the lead. Pilipinas finally made a run with 8 points in the last 4 minutes to end the third quarter with a score of 79-55. Utek Gutierrez
(38155386) scored 8 points early in the 4th to extinguish any hopes of Taiwan coming back. Although Taiwan U21 can field a better team, this win certainly boosted the morale of the team.
