Yes some GE changes have been announced to be implemented after next season I believe. Something about reducing the dominance of LI, increasing effectiveness of shotblocking skill.

Point I was making is we have been heading towards a new path, but again it takes 8 seasons of training from 18yrs old for a player to be NT ready. So all of this discussion about deviating or changing as far as player development is not that relevant in my opinion. The discussion of changing tactics...idk itd be nice if we have the ability to change offenses to bust 2-3 zones etc, but with Logsdon/Bronson retired and limited roster space in which to assemble a versatile team it will be difficult in the short term until other players are ready or the GE changes.

Can we really? In my term we had Logsdon, Bronson, Madrid, Medrano, Dube etc. Guys with heavy JS/JR, so we went outside offense, that and our bigs were garbage outside Jairo. Now our guards top out at what 18 JS/13 JR? Up against 19-20 OD opponents every game, plus the top tier Worlds opponents have OD at PF and C so even if we had several Nielsens as we hope we will idk how much it will help. I think we would need the GE change to be significant plus a Logsdon or two.

Agree building a roster that does both will be difficult. Making bigs that can do both is easier, guards and SFs that can do both very difficult and not enough roster spots.

Land me a player that can develop into a logsdon or better and I'll train him that way for you. Point blank and period. Just ask.

I am positive there are managers whom if asked would or could do that for the country.

Edit: I doubt my guy Marks at SS potential will be able to be a sf for nt. but I am going to train him as if he needs to compete against people on that level anyways

I think its impossible to have a roster to do both. Thats were the decision comes in each season of what we think gives us the best chance of winning.

Hypothetically though, the ideal tactic to have both inside and outside would be PTB. With that, I could see if we had the right players all around, maybe some good outside guards, good inside guards, good passing, both types of SFs, a couple two way PFs, and typical centers, then we could potentially pull it off.

I think that American teams who train National Team players need more recognition. What they are doing is a service that should be rewarded with more than just a little flag next to the player's name. What about something like a list of all the managers that contribute to the national team on the forums? It isn't much, but at least it would recognize each team specifically for helping. We are all trying to put the pressure on the NBBA teams, but I think they should at least deserve some praise in return. In fact, all American teams that have national team players should be noticed. Ok let me rephrase, since I myself trained Logsdon so obviously there are a rare few managers who would do it, but we are talking NT here. To sustain the salary of a 200k-250k SG you would have to be an NBBA team. NBBA teams with outside offense generally do not last long in the current environment, especially ones with 250k guards (that only on and off play for the NT so no assured merch boost). Before you say it, yes there are successful outside offense NBBA teams, obviously Silverbacks, but he doesnt do it with mega NT SGs. So we would need to be sure that the GE change is significant or these 200k+ outside offense guards will retire. If we shift our player development of our HOF potential players towards creating high salary SGs who retire at 29 or bounce around from one D5 team to another we will be causing great damage to the NT program IMO.

I am liking the sound of this idea. A mainly outside tactic can crush inside oriented teams if we construct the team properly. It would take a long time, but it may pay off big.

If in 8 seasons I am still in d. V delete my account as I don't deserve it.

Edit: what did your typical finances look like? Did you have any homegrown talent? How American only was your team?

Not too sure how this is relevant, but it only took me two full seasons to leave easily. If you listen to some of the tips and read the forums it will be a piece of cake. You'll probably be in D.IV-III by then.
