The changes in the HCA are highly appreciated :D

Threre seems to be many anomalies in yesterday's scrimmages.
Look at this (12704423). 130 shot attemps and 37 OR (with 2 levels less in the reb ratings) seem to be too far too many.

I played with PG, SG and SF with 11, 10 and 10 in outside defence with a 3 - 2 zone and only got 5 of outside defence. My backups where 8, 11, 10.

I'm guessing the the engine tweaked the OD equation in order to gain more steals (a more guess oriented defense) which leads to more open shots... and possibly loosened it up to gain more assists.

However, that brought about strange results. I point to my PG who should be helped by the changes. However, because he is experienced and sensed a mismatch... he put up 17 shots and 6 three pointers in 31 minutes.

This PG had never in his entire career taken more than 13 shots in a game and... not since his first 2 games (when I played motion... I was playing Push the Ball yesterday) had he taken more than 3 three pointers. More importantly, this season he had never taken more than 2.

I can live with the higher number of turnovers, I can live with more assists (although I didn't see more assists... probably because I am shooting from 3 point land... 30 three pointers! That's 10 more than I had in my previous game... and probably 15-20 more than I usually get)... the rebounding doesn't seem so bad. But... If my PG who can't shoot starts putting up 17 shots a game every game...

With zone defence it's new and more realistic then same player tries for example inside shot two times in a row but againts different player.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, clearly although I didnt intend to lower the OD rating, somehow something we did seemed to have a dramatic effect so I will look into that and have it adjusted for next week. This is exactly why we released it in this manner so we can get it right before it goes on games that matter.

Also seems blocks were not as high as I thought they were... I will adjust that as well.

We are thinking about redoing the rebounding team rating to better reflect the new engine...and/or tweaking the new engine as it seems we haven't made everything clearer, in fact it seems to be more confusing to some people.

please keep leaving feedback, just wanted to let everyone know i am reading and listening to this.

My PG (2649655) seemed a bit trigger happy in the scrimmage game (12707970) He usually shot only at most 5 a game, yet his attempts got to about 17. And my 2-3 zone got me pitiful (high) in perimeter defense. Im also wondering why my Look Inside offense yield me 13 3-point attempts. I dont have good outside shooters yet my SF attempted 5 shots beyond the arc instead of going below the basket.

34 combined 3-point attempts seem too much for two teams that looked inside - (12704225). Even against 2-3 defenses I usually get less than 10 attempts from 3-point land in the current GE. The Look Inside offense felt like Push the Ball in the new GE.

the tsv bogen plays with weak outside defenders on PG and SG(i believe the PG has an 4, and his 2cd SG with 23 patz have an one in OD) and gets pretty good rating - many this could helps you in finding a solution

quick question on defense algorithm...
I've been focusing on players at every position that have decent outside and inside defense... with the new game engine that uses the location of the shot to decide the defender, it just seems to me that my strategy is a bad one...
meaning I should instead go for the PG and SG with extremely high OD and atrocious ID, and the PF and C with atrocious OD but extremely high ID... just wondering if I misunderstood how defense work in the new engine?
