watch this and tell me what you think. this is at least a fun discovery :)

(23941713) 9/18/2010 League Game (Televised)

(25870105) 9/21/2010 League Playoff Game

I think there's too much random.

Well there is no update between 18th and the 21st (there is financial update but that doesn't affect the gameshape or anything) so really, everything is exactly the same. same players at the same spot, same tactics, same same everything. This is a good evidence to make an assumption that the game is predetermined by the game engine.

All the previous discussions were based on assumptions. This is... well it's one fact that favors the predetermined position. Same score, same number of fouls, time-outs, identical play-by-play ... even the animation shows that all the shots were taken from the exact same position on the court.

Current result: predetermined 1 : 0 not-predetermined.

P.S. I wonder if you have the same Staff members (specialties) and enthusiasm level...

Sorry but it's not a counter evidence. Different starting lineup of the home team in the fist and second game.

The score is not determined before the simulation is run. It is, however, determined before you see it "live".

The whole point of the Game Engine is to Calculate the Final Score between the two teams. So i agree with you that the score isn't predetermined because then that would make the GE pretty pointless (other then to read the Play-by-Play) but most of the time if can't watch a Game Live I just check the Box Score.

I wouldn't say it is "Determined" when you are watching it "live" however it has been "Calculated" thanks to the running of the GE.

no it is pre-determined and calculated because if u check ur "manage my team" during the 15 mins cut off time and the game during a home game or a playoff game u willl realize that ull earn the money from the game... furthermore, during that time also right before the game starts, try setting next game's lineup u will realize that one of the players is injured (the exact one who will pick up an injury during the game). i mean, if ur watching the game and X player gets injured u would see that he is injured before watching the game during the 15 mins span (when u go and set up ur line up for the next game).
Thats the main reason why BB will never allow the manager to change his tactics or Sub pattern or starters after the game has started because it will mean scrapping the whole game engine and starting from scratch.

I am pretty sure it wouldn't take the GE 15 minutes to calculate only your game (I mean it has the rest of your country + teams that are in similar time zones to yours). Probably only a matter of seconds to a minute so it doesn't surprise me that you can view all of the information during the 15 minute Cut-off period.

And i am not saying that during the time when you are "Watching it Live" it hasn't been determined just stating that i would assume the point of the GE is to work out the final score of the teams + all of the events that would happen (from passing the ball to a player getting injured).

And i agree with you about why they don't allow you to change after the lock-out. I mean what programmer in their right mind would want a user to change the variables that the GE is using while it is processing the results (And i am talking about in this particular instance not programs in general lol)

yes it might take a couple of seconds or even less to calculate ur game and the rest. the rest of the time (15 mins) is a buffer time in case the GE slowed down or whatever..

Look at it this way.
My games start at 5:30pm my time so I will use that in my example.

Before 5:15 : All variables come together like tactics etc.
5:15 - 5:30 : Game calculation begins and should finish very early in this time span (takes 1 or 2 minutes). This is where we are debating whether it is predetermined or not.
5:30 - 7:10ish: Game replay is shown.

Do you understand now?

Can you smell what the Hobos are cooking... oh wait its just Roger. (18085274)

Between 5:15 and 5:30 the game is predetermined.. The proof of that is you can see any injury that "migh" happen in the game and the money u cud make out of it on "my manage team"..
I hope you understand now what I mean :)
